Guest book

So, I’m not a huge fan of the guest book. What’s the purpose of it? I know who will be there, I invited them. What do you do with it afterward? Store it? What is your opinion/plan for the guestbook? Yay? Or nay?

I’m not a big fan of the guest books, they even have them at funerals, which to me is weird. Who looks back at that. I am considering just a cute way of people giving their best marriage advice in a jar. Nothing fancy. But it’s more common today to have people do something you can hang in your home. I say if you don’t want it, don’t do it. Do you!

Our theme for the wedding is 50's rockabilly so our guest book is 3 vinyl records and they will be framed and go on our wedding wall above our record player 😁

We are having one,but it’s not the traditional one,it’ll be a big canvas with our picture on it,that our guest will sign and right beside the canvas we’ll have a bi enough Jar for them to leave well wishes in.

I'm doing something that can be hung up in our home. My cousin did this and a few other weddings I've been to have done something similar. Picture included. It's all personal preference though!

Ours is a large piece of stained wood with our names and wedding date printed on it. I think it's beautiful even if no one signs it. Smiley smile

I did that for my graduation party. They look cool on the wall.

I’m not doing a tradition guest book. I’m getting this sign off of Etsy for everyone to sign, so we can hang it in our townhouse (way more meaningful!) It is a wooden sign with our last name in the middle and the date and there’s room for people to sign around it. It’s by NakedWoodenWorks on Etsy!

We are doing a home plate for ours then we will hang it later in our house. We are huge baseball fans so our theme for the reception is baseball.

Following. I think I want us to do an alternative one, but I'm not sure what yet... Some great ideas on here!

I love reading these because I don’t want a traditional book either. I’m leaning towards the Polaroid or well wishes

I 100% agree with you on this - we will have photos and cards to remember who was there and their relationship in our lives. I'm thinking maybe to have a stack of quilt blocks and markers that people can sign and write advice and then I can put it together - we will have something useful as a memento and I won't have to stare at 100 people's signatures on my wall - this way I can also weed out people who maybe write inappropriate things because let's be honest I know my guests haha

We're getting a puzzle guest book from etsy. Everyone can size a piece. Then we're going to mount it and frame it as a reminder of everyone that celebrated that day with us. I don't think they're necessary though. It's all personal preference.

I want to do the polaroid book, too, and maybe a jar for well wishes/advice/whatever ridiculousness my friends/family come up with. We already own an instant camera, so we'd need film and a book and maybe some stickers and stuff and that's it. I like the scrapbook idea, too. That's super cute.

I always thought of guest books as a place for guests to write a note to the couple.

Personally, I got tree guest book where people can stamp their thumb print to make up the leaves of the tree and then sign their name. And we’re going to have a “message on a bottle” thing for people to write well wishes.

We really didn't want something that was just going to end up collecting dust. We decided to have everyone fill out an address card for an old school phone book with a short note on the back. This way we have their important information written down somewhere safe since as of right now it's just all online or on our phones. We know not everyone will fill it out but liked the idea better than others we saw.

We’re not doing a guest book. Instead, We are doing a framed collage of our engagement photos with matting that guests can sign. That way, we can see all the people that came, and have something that we will want to see everyday.
