Group gift thank you's?

Individual is always more personal.

I think individual thank you cards in this case is best. More polite. They all came together to sign a card for one person. Would be weird for the one person to in return sign one card to them as a group.

We have done group gifts in the past. A single group thank you card is not a big deal to me. Some people may find it offensive. Since you don't know how people react, just make thank you notes to everyone.

When i was given a group gift from co-workers I sent an e-mail to all of them to thank them. It wasn't a large gift, and it was only to me. If it was a gift to me and FH together for our wedding, I would think individual thank you notes signed by both of you would be a very nice gesture.

We do group gifts in my office but really, it's our manager buying the gift and coming up with the gift idea....I think she buys it with department money. If your office is similar, I would write a thank you to my boss and thank everyone individually in person.

I got a couple of group shower gifts and sent individual thank yous to everyone, but when it came to colleagues who gave me a surprise wedding gift i wrote one thank-you note for the office and brought in a box of treats and some flowers for everyone to enjoy, which felt like a decent compromise.
