Groomsmen gifts-need ideas!

Kelsey, on March 2, 2020 at 3:27 PM Posted in Planning 2 24

My FH keeps shooting down ideas I have been giving him for groomsmen gifts. Just trying to think of some new ideas. Here are the ideas shot down or out: flasks, beer glasses, shot glasses (one of usher's is newly sober and another guy doesn't drink). Watches are out too. Any different ideas that you guys have? My FH is responsible for purchasing said item or items but he just says I don't know when I ask what he is planning on doing.

I think my Fiancé is getting his guys Yeti cups. Another idea is get them all personalized travel toiletry bag. He could also do something personal for each instead of everyone gets the same gift. For example one loves to golf so he gets him some nice golf balls and one does like to drink so get him a nice bottle of his favorite liquor. Or maybe they have a favorite sports team and he could get him a jersey or a hat.

Just like with bridesmaids, there is never going to be one gift that fits all. Much better to choose personal gifts that each person would like. And for that, your future spouse, who presumably knows his groomsmen best, will need to pick them out. I would take this item off your to do list for sure.

Yeah I suggested getting each guy something like a shirt or something with their favorite NFL/college team that one I got a maybe on lol. I also suggested a small grilling set for each, but that got shot down too. Never knew my FH would be so picky about this.

Traditionally the groom gifts the tie worn to the wedding. Each being slightly different and suited to the personality of the groomsman. Socks could be fun too or he could base the gift off of each groomsman's hobbies.

Are you having the groomsmen buy the suit/tuxes? We are having ours buy since, but we are going to buy their ties and pocket squares (this way they can't accidentally forget them) and then give them a gift card towards their purchase. The difference between renting and buying was $100 so this way they get a new suit and it'll only cost them $50. The other option is picking something unique for each groomsman. Good luck!

We are renting them. We are purchasing them ties through Azazie so they match my bridesmaids dresses. Thanks for the suggestion!

Ummm, ok? I was trying to help lighten your load. But what's on your to do list is certainly up to you. Good luck.

Quick question, what size did you get for the tie? I see there's options ( I didn't know there were tie sizes/lengths)

I got the skinny tie at 58". I didn't know the difference either, my FH didn't like the wider ones. And according to Google (lol) 58 is the standard length.

My DH got his guys classic black Ray Ban Wayfarer sunglasses—he even got a junior pair for our 7 year old ring bearer. They all still wear them after the event—including the little guy, who is classic rumble tumble little boy but very careful with nice things.
