Oooh, boy! I got my brazillian bikini wax today. Let me tell you!! Its been years since I've suffered this type of self-torture. I forgot how bad it really is. At least the first time. I made her stop, lol! 99.99% is gone but there are stragly hairs here and there that she wanted to wax. I was like...

Oooh, boy! I got my brazillian bikini wax today. Let me tell you!! Its been years since I've suffered this type of self-torture. I forgot how bad it really is. At least the first time. I made her stop, lol! 99.99% is gone but there are stragly hairs here and there that she wanted to wax. I was like Hell to the nawl! This girl's va-jay-jay needs some rest!

Yeah, it hurt so bad that I started sweating. Everywhere. There are a few small patches of skin gone, too but nothing too bad. No real bleeding. I'm all swollen and red. And I'll make sure I don't wear any panties the next time I do this. But I was smart and wore a skirt at least.

The thing I like best is that I did this now and didn't wait till the week before the wedding to get the first waxing done.

    @jlam- I'm getting that!! OMG, I need it :-)

@ Ashley - it is a salon but the person who did me only waxes (at least thats all I see her do). She's been growing my eyebrows back for over 6 months now...

Aussie don't get a wax before giving birth! Be sure to shave because of all the after blood, it's easier shaved but you don't want to wax because it makes your skin thinner so add that to being stretched. Learn from my mistakes pls! lol

Ooh Im gonna need the white chocolate wax! I'll let you ladies know if I find it.

I wax my own eyebrows and lip because I have an eyebrow piercing and I want to like stab the person doing it when I get it done because I ask them to not go too close to it and they go close anyway and it hurts like a b*tch! It's sensitive because you know..It's a piercing, and I just got it done in December before Christmas so it's still healing(it can take a year to heal). I do my own hair now too because I had two people comb it.

Yall, this is an experience for me! I wanted to try getting armpits waxed for wedding...was it sore right after? How much time in advance should I try this?

Ladylee - did the bumps take long to go away?

@TJ - I've never gotten my pitts waxed before.... I wonder if it hurts really bad. The one time I did my legs it was very painful AND it didn't take well. But I've shaved my legs for years. If I thought it would take well I'd do a whole body wax so I don't have to take shaving stuff on the honey moon... but I would try it out at least 1-2 months before your wedding so if necessaary any damage that happens can have time to heal/go away

    LadyLee, I wanna know, too

@MrsJoseph the underarms are really not that bad. The worst part is letting the hair grow out. I felt so uncomfortable. My FH was like "umm.. what is going on in there?" lol I like it because you dont sweat and if the waxer can get it by the root, the hair starts looking thinner immediately.

@ Not-A-Bridezilla The shops name is "Dominicks" it is located inside a hair salon. Lyn doesnt work on Sat/Sun and books by appt. only. (I know that is a schedule blower, but she is worth it!) Usually 2 weeks in advance. The shop number is 301-474-2447. If you do eventually go, please tell me what you think.

I've gotten my legs waxed before, did it a few days b4 the wedding, and it was great! I still shaved tho, bc waxing pulls out your pours, & I wanted smooth legs, which I got with shaving.

My vajayjay tho... I dont know about that. I want to, but I'm too scared :/

I'm scared too. I hadn't thought about this but now I really want to do it. :-\ I've never had anything waxed! I've tried waxing my own bikini but it didn't work very well. Smiley sad

Am I crazy because I don't think it hurts that much. I mean, it doesn't feel GREAT but it's a lot better than the dentist or gynie. lol

TJ you should try it at least a couple of months before the wedding. It's going into summer now so it would actually be a good time to try it. The only thing is you have to let it grow for at least a couple of weeks. The actual waxing didn't hurt nearly as much as I thought it would. Just an initial sting and then the next day is was kinda tender but after that I was in heaven until a couple of weeks later the hair started to grow back. I should have known better b/c I do get ingrowns. Even after shaving my legs I put alcohol on them or I'm destined to get a couple. I really liked the results of the waxing and I really want to try it again. I just have to figure out how to prevent the bumps. It didn't take long to clear up at all. I just used my acne spot treatment cream and it cleared right up in a couple of days.

I actually cannot wait to get mine done. I am very nervous but I think I will be okay. There is a salon/spa I go to for everything and they are very good. Hopefully things will go well

Oh I got a freebie from my dermatologist on Monday - she offered to laser my upper lip for free! (should I feel good about that or be upset that I'm old and she noticed it???). That stung, but is awesome because it was FREE!

She offered to do my under arms as well as a wedding gift, I was stupid and said no...(slaps forehead!).

It stung a little but no more so than waxing.
