Going Barefoot (or at least no heels)

Stingel2016, on January 13, 2016 at 10:07 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 18

So I'm a plus-size bride and I hate heels. My colors are blue and white and I was thinking of wearing white or blue canvas shoes. Anyone have any advice or experience using shoes other than heels?

I'm personally going barefoot, and my sister wore TOMS for her wedding. If your dress is long, no one will really even see the shoes or lack thereof.

A lot of people go the No-heel route. Pick something that's comfortable for you! I wore heels and by dinner I was in flipflops. Then those gave me a blister so I was barefoot by the dancing!

I don't think anyone would notice. I almost wish I'd gone the flat shoe route since my feet were hurting just after the dress fitting, but I think I just need to wear them in.

I'm wearing flats. I'm way too clumsy for heels. There's nothing wrong with wearing flats, sneakers, Toms, whatever! No one sees them anyway. This is one of those things that no one should care about. It's your feet. Wear whatever you want.

I was going to wear these silly parrot print Toms, but then I found adorable kate spade keds. Wear what you are comfortable in, especially because most bridal gowns will cover your feet anyway!

I wore pink sparkly flats. I live in flats. When I wear heels, I look like a baby giraffe trying to walk. Here's a picture of them...

I wore sparkly flats like @Beth. I didn't want to sink in grass at all and I have a hard time wearing heels since I began running. My feet always hurt.

A friend of mine wore chucks under her dress in their wedding colors. It was way cute.

When I was MOH for my MOH, she had us barefoot for the ceremony (henna'd feet) and then for the reception I had lace up hermes type sandals. Very comfortable.

Go for comfort since you'll be on your feet a lot that day/night.

I plan to wear something flat and comfy. Like ballet flats or the like. Be sure they don't rub or cause blisters! Just because they are flat doesn't mean you're in the clear. I plan to still wear mine for a few days in advance to break them in. Comfy feet is a priority for me.

I'm wearing Converse, they're what I always wear and these are customized to go with my wedding dress.

There are flag stones where I'm getting married, and I'm afraid of a heel getting caught and taking a header, so I'm going barefoot. I am however considering soleless sandals or perhaps having my feet hennaed.

I wore heels and I hated it. We did a first look and walked 2 blocks to our venue. They were pretter dangerous for the locations I was taking pic too. I was in them for SO long. My planner had flip flops at the end of the aisle for me and I wore them the rest of the night. I wish I wore a flat sandal from the beginning.

Im wearing flat, sparkly gladiator sandals. i dont want to be taller than FH, and i think heels will look pretty out of place at a beachy wedding anyways.

I wore very small heels but during the ceremony and pictures. Right after our first dance, I changed into flip flops.
