Gift for someone special helping out with the wedding

Betsy, on March 28, 2011 at 11:37 AM Posted in Planning 0 5

I have a girlfriend who I drifted apart with right after highschool. Recently, she came back into my life and has been a GREAT help with my wedding plans. She is doing my invitations and insisting I do not pay her, she is also helping out with our photography as she is an amateur photographer and art major and we are on a very tight budget. She is not one of my bridesmaids because I had already chosen them before we started talking. I really want to get her something special so that she knows how much I appreciate all she is doing... I am just wondering if anyone has any ideas on what I could do for her to thank and acknowledge all she has done for me!

You could get her a corsage to wear at the wedding. Or if your getting all your BM the same gift, get her one as well? Or if your doing programs, include her name in it? Tell us a little more about her and maybe I can think of something a little more specific to her.

I had three friends volunteer to be musicians, and another friend who hosted my bachelorette and helped set up the reception site.

I gave each of them a bottle of fairly good champagne (about $30) with a handwritten thank-you note.

Is there anything she's into? Maybe something for the photography? A special memento from your wedding?

For example, our officiant is a family friend, we aren't pay her, but she's into Pandora bracelets, so we are getting her a charm.

My sister was MOH in her best friend's wedding, I was attending as well. The day I off, when I dropped my sister off at the brides house, the bride was freaking out about all the small stuff. I offered to do what I can and ended up acting like a day off coordinator (checking decorations, directing the vendors, getting everywhere early, putting the centerpeices on the tables, etc). I happily worked by butt off for this bride. A full year later, I got a hand written thank you letter and a gift certificate to get a massage. Honestly, the hand written letter was perfect. The massage was nice, but I didn't think it was necessary.
