Getting to church in wedding dress?

Colleen, on January 28, 2014 at 6:32 PM Posted in Planning 0 14

The church we are getting married in does not have a dressing room, so me and my brides maids will be getting dressed at one of there places. My question is how do I get to the church in my dress without getting a wrinkle in it? Should i sit in the back seat by myself? Don't want to rent a limo.

please no negative answers what may seem obvious to you may not be obvious to everyone else. I am just asking a non controversial question not asking for your first born.

Jump in the back of the truck and hoot & holler your way there.

Sit in the back by yourself. I sat in the passenger seat of my Rendevous while one of the bridesmaids drove. Make sure though that you take the time and have someone to help "fluff" your skirt back out.

My bestie sat in the front seat of my car on the way to her wedding and it was fine.

Buy a steam iron and iron out all the wrinkles. problem solved! or they have this downy wrinkle free spray in the travel section in walmart.

I think you're overthinking this. You'll be fine. If you want to be especially careful sit in the back by yourself. Is it a long drive?

I wondered the same thing! I think I am going with the back seat with my legs/dress stretched across the the seats.

Pack the iron with water in it for steam and steam out any wrinkles

I wouldn't worry about this too much. A short car ride won't make huge creases in your dress. Remember, your guests & FH want to see your face that day! No one will notice but you if your dress isn't absolutely perfect. Everyone should be paying attention the the ceremony, anyway.

And remember, you'll be sitting down for dinner a lot longer than you'll be in the car!

We didn't have that issue for the ceremony, but we did ride to the reception in our minivan. The two elderly women from whom we asked directions did a double-take when they saw not one but two brides in full regalia in our minivan. But it really wasn't a big deal. The material of a wedding dress tends to be quite heavy, which pulls the wrinkles out when you stand up.

It depends on your dress and where it's poofy and what it's made of. Details, please!

Just remember, Kate Middleton didn't get ready at Westminster Abbey. :-) I think she was alone in the backseat of her car.

Like everyone said, you'll probably have to have a big space in the back of the car for you.

Also, will you have to travel far? If it isn't too far, you might not have to worry about bad wrinkles.
