Over rated If You are upset that the person does Not have fancy enough drink then you are not at the wedding for the right reasons. Beer and whine is enough.

I don’t think it’s overrated. I think it’s a know your crowd thing. I know my crowd and more than half don’t drink at all and the ones who drink only drink certain things so a full bar would be pointless and a waste of money.

Underrated - I've attended weddings with full open bars, just beer and wine and no alcohol at all, and I can honestly say that full open bars are the way to go. IMO, it's more considerate and accommodating of your guests alcohol preferences

Underrated. We'll have an open bar all night.

YASSSSSS! You understand the culture. If I didn't provide, my family would sneak in alcohol and start their own bar which would get us kicked out lol. To save money, we just aren't doing a premium open bar just a well open bar.

I think beer and wine is plenty! However, we are both in recovery (addict/alcoholic), so many of our guests are also in recovery and don't drink. Most drinking guests will be older family members, so I think beer and wine will be just fine for us!

Overrated – I think beer and wine is totally okay and maybe a signature cocktail. Adding the liquor gets expensive really quick and I feel most of it gets wasted. We'll just be having beer and wine without an option to purchase liquor.

I think underrated. I think having an open bar really allows for your guests to enjoy themselves. I’d rather have an open bar then a welcome bag.

Neither. I think an open-bar is a necessity. Having your guests pay their own tab sounds very tacky and not in good spirits. I understand budget may be a problem sometimes, but I would not like to go to a wedding without an open bar.

Overrated. Sort of. We did a full open bar for our wedding, but I think it's totally fine to just serve beer and wine at a wedding!

Overrated in the liquor options, but underrated in the open option. It is fine to have a small selection, or just beer and wine, it does not have to be a full bar with all possible combinations. But I do think that an open bar is underrated, since your guests are traveling, and spending money on gifts, attire, travel expenses, etc. it is nice to "thank" them and offer them the option to have a good time with a few free drinks.

Overrated, there's no point to alcohol at a wedding, though this is coming from someone having a mixed race wedding and racist family members. People hold their tongues better while not intoxicated.

I would say underrated only because I don't think your guests should have to pay for anything at your wedding. They would have already taken time off work, travel time, booked a hotel (if needed), etc. The last thing guests should have to worry about is paying for something else. Especially wedding related.

Overrated. Be happy with the wine I'm giving you, and maybe beer, too.

I think underrated. We recently went to a wedding and it was strictly beer and wine. I like wine but prefer mixed drinks. We are having full bar at our reception.
