We're doing one. The venue we really wanted was not available Saturdays in the fall (college location near the football stadium). So, Friday it was.

Generally, Friday weddings start later so that local people can still work at least part of the day.

ETA: We aren't getting any discounts for doing a Friday.

I think this is a know your crowd situation. We went to two Friday weddings this year, and FH and I both had to take time off of work to attend them. My friend who is a teacher got married on a Friday and invited a bunch of her teacher friends... didn't make sense to me at all. But if you think your guests would be okay with it, go for it.

I am doing a friday wedding. It worked better for our guests than the Saturday. Plus they are cheaper usually.

We chose a Friday wedding because it's Friday the 13th!! We lucked out and saved $1800 on the venue since it was a Friday! We also saved on photography since it's off season.

We only had 3 declines out of 96 invitees

I'm doing a Friday wedding, and the guests will know way in advance. I honestly don't see it being a problem at all.

I'm doing Friday. It works better in the Catholic Church than a Saturday would. In our case, it isn't any cheaper though.

The only person who has had a problem with it is my grandmother, but she has a problem with everything.

I don't like Friday weddings unless it is local. If you have out of town guests now they need to take more time off of work than if you had a Saturday or Sunday wedding.

We would have done a Friday for sure if our dating anniversary didn't fall on a Saturday this year

I think Friday weddings tend to be inconvenient for guests. Usually, I have to either leave work early to get ready or end up late to the ceremony. It also means I'm starving until dinner is served at the reception which tends to be a little later than people normally eat.

We had a Friday wedding. We knew not many people would be able to make it to the ceremony so we were realistic about what to expect. However seeing a ton of empty chairs in your photos does suck, be warned of that.

We had a Friday wedding and people partied all night. A few people didn't make the ceremony, but that happens. Also we saved a lot of money from our venue

We are having it on a Friday, and I don't see anything wrong with it. They typically start a little later though so people have time after work, and expect that some people won't be able to make it.

Also, some places have cheaper prices on Fridays than Saturdays. The venue we ended up choosing didn't, but a lot of the others that we searched had some form of discount.
