Friday or Sunday wedding ?

Bperri1187, on March 30, 2020 at 10:21 PM Posted in Florida Planning 0 10
Due to COVID19, I need to postpone my wedding. Unfortunately my venue does not have a lot of availability. The wedding is in Florida so people will be traveling from MA.

Original wedding date was 5/24/20

1. Which day of the week should I have my wedding Friday or Sunday ??
2. Venue availability 2/7/21, 5/14/21, 5/23, and 5/28. Anyone have any suggestions which date ??
Thank you

As a wedding attendee I’d prefer a Friday wedding to be able to let loose and have the weekend to recover. Also feedback I got when choosing a date was that a lot of people don’t like to compromise their Sunday religious ceremonies and routines.

Our new date is a Sunday. It was the only date all our vendors had available. Normally I wouldn’t want a Friday OR a Sunday wedding but we really had no choice. I’ve been to more Sunday weddings than Friday ones and have never had any issues. Our wedding will be 5:30pm- 11pm. It is what it is.

Im getting married in FL too and we moved to april! Id say go for february since the weather will be nicer. If its an outdoor wedding, consider the sunset time. Our venue only opens after 6:30pm, so we chose april to have our ceremony in the daylight (daylight saving ends on 3/14). Also we were also considering fri vs. sun and went with Friday so that ppl can have fun/relax in florida for the weekend.

I would do a Friday and I would do either February for it being pretty nice but could be still hot during that month or early May . Mid May you have memorial weekend where people usually go
    Out of town.

I would think Friday would be better than a Sunday. My logic here is that you don’t want to have your reception party on a Sunday night and people have to work Monday potentially with a hangover or having to leave your party early to return home for work. Where as Friday they can stay however long they want and have sat and Sunday to recover or travel back home for work

The 5/23/21 date would be great as it's already a holiday weekend and will give your guests some time to really explore the town you're getting married in. We also chose a holiday weekend for our Florida destination wedding. Where are you getting married? Good luck with the reschedule!!
