Four Weddings - what not to do

Going to the chapel, on September 25, 2017 at 11:55 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 39

I'm home this morning and am catching an episode of Four Weddings. One couple had a lovely venue, however, they served only pizza and pop. Two flavors of pop. No ice that I could see. So, what happened? The pizza was cold and the guest brides found a venue employee to heat their pizza on the grill. One of the guests at the table brought a flask of whiskey, so the mixing began! The bride received scores of 3 and 4. Lessons here that couples can learn from.

Was this place in Illinois? I visited a venue like that and was very confuse with 2L bottles on the tables. I thought it was for an event they was having and the people requested it.

The wedding was in NYC. They just set the boxes of pizza on the serving tables. Didn't even try for a nice display.

Lmao funny. A venue that I looked at had pictures of a wedding with pizza and soda sitting on the tables.

That couple I think got a score in the 40's or something super low. They obviously didn't really know how to host a wedding. On another episode someone had a 6/7 hour gap between ceremony and reception, so the other girls just sat at one of the brides relatives house. That show is great for seeing some cool ideas and some not so cool ideas.

I mean I enjoy pizza, but at a wedding I wouldn't want it for the main course. I'd only want it for a late night snack.

Haha I saw that one too. I remember seeing another where they ran out of food and the other brides went to get takeout somewhere else. That wedding would have gotten a big fat zero from me.

There was one episode where the bride wore a terribly done home made tutu at a almost winter time outdoor beach ceremony. They brought in some really crummy pizza and I think some cans of soda. The other brides stayed huddled by one of the two heaters under the tent the entire night. They were completely miserable. Worse wedding I've seen on there.

Brittnee, I've seen that wedding too. Very much a boho vibe, which I love, but poor hosting. Wasn't that the one where they had guests sitting on blankets?

I think I saw that one. I definitely remember the guests brides getting their food heated at one wedding.

Some of those weddings are out there.

Anyone know the episode? I understand what they are trying to do with a fun atmosphere thing, but doesn't sound like it was executed, right.

I love pizza but that doesn't sound very good for a wedding.

I remember that episode. I couldn't believe the white boxes of pizza. The poor guests, walking into an upscale, trendy venue in NYC only to be served from the local pizzeria. That's a bait and switch those guests will never forget.

I remember the one where all they had for supper was a taco bar. The other brides were complaining it was missing this and that. (The lowest score of the night and one of the lowest I've seen).

And a lot of people on W/W think Taco bars are a great idea, to feed their guests. ???

Currently watching this. Such a beautiful venue but that's it. Cold pizza? Eww!

Thanks for posting this because you just reminded me I need to have a work from home day later this week so I can watch all the four weddings and SYTD I have been recording.
