Four Weddings on TLC

Felecia, on March 6, 2010 at 12:27 PM Posted in Planning 0 19

Has anybody seen Four Weddings on TLC? What do you think about that show? I think it's great to see four styles of weddings. You can get a lot of ideas.

Love that show! I think the brides can be a little harsh in their criticisms, but you can def get a lot of good ideas.

I saw the show for the first time last night. I liked it but I don't think it's fair for a bride with a $10,000 budget to have to compete with a bride with a $75,000 budget. What do you all think about that?

I agree with you Wendy. But I have seen an episode where the lowest budget bride did win. So there's some hope for all the brides.

I'm with wendy on this.. I saw it too for the first time yesterday and last night.. I really don't like that they put 3 brides that have $70,000 plus for their budget with 1 bride that has a $20,000 that is just not fair at all. I mean it's nice to see that the lower budget can do an amazing job BUT I still don't see how even close that can be to choosing what is "better"...

I don't like the whole, opinionated by the other brides thing. I don't get that. I think they shoud have a wedding planner, a preacher and a normal person. I don't know just not the other brides judging.

I'd like to see the budgets being closer together. And different judges.

I thought it was good that every bride was very proud and happy about her own wedding. I agree that it is unfair to judge a $75k wedding against a $10k wedding, or to judge a quick secular ceremony against a long, religious ceremony. Every bride loved her own wedding best because she put the time and love into it. I guess the point is to look at weddings from the guest's point of view.

Having done the ceremony for the 10,000 dollar wedding, I can tell you that they had a ball! It was a lovely couple who have been together for many years, and have two great kids together, so the family sand ceremony made great sense for them.

I have never been of the mind that just throwing money at a wedding makes it automatically better. Its a matter of having the celebration that reflects the couple within a budget that works for them, whatever that budget may be.

That being said, I was happy to be a part of it, and I think my couple was too!

I saw one episode where one of the brides had very ecclectic taste and did a lot of interesting DIY stuff. I actually liked it (I orig went to school for design, same as her, so I appreciated it), but the other brides didn't really get it so they gave her low scores. I didn't think that was very fair.

I agree with you Ava. I think there should be expert judges. I think they would be fair, no matter what budget the bride has.

Danielle should absolutely not win because she never had anything positive to say about ANYTHING or ANYONE. I can't stand her negativitiy.
