Anyone have experience with eloping/small wedding in a different country? I’m in the US and looking to have a wedding in Italy and I’d love to hear any experiences you’ve had planning a wedding from far away! I have looked into the paperwork part of things but I’m thinking I might need to hire someone in Italy to guide me along.

We are going to have the wedding abroad, but we're going to getting legally married after we get back to the US. We just don't want to deal with all the extra fees and paperwork to do it officially in Mexico.

That’s what I wanted to do too but my fiancé is catholic and really wanted to get married officially over there

If you wanted to get married in a Catholic church abroad, I would check with your local parish to see if they have any advice or know of anything you may have to do to get married abroad!
