For the ceremony do you wear your engagement ring...

futuremrslavender, on June 9, 2015 at 9:41 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 40

A.) put your wedding ring on top??

-OR-

b.) don't wear your engagement ring for the ceremony so the wedding ring goes on first? Then slip it on top after?

Definitely following. FH says he doesn't want to put a wedding ring on a naked finger, but I feel like it should be!

I'm trying to figure this out too! I also have my university ring I always wear on my right hand... should I take it off?... probably...

I'll likely where my engagement ring on my right hand then put it on the left after the ceremony like @MoonRide said

I wore mine. H just put the wedding band on top and I switched it when the ceremony was over.

I did the same as Lucy. I have two bands so he just put one on and handed me the other one after the ceremony and I switched them all around

I wore mine for both weddings. We did both bands at the first wedding, very awkward trying to keep up with 3 rings. I then wore 1 band and the engagement ring for the 2nd ceremony ( the one I planned). It was funny sending someone up to the grooms room to get his ring because he was already wearing it!

I'm wearing my engagement ring on my right hand & switching it to the left hand immediately after the ceremony.

I have a ring that I always wear on my right hand so I am going to wear my engagement ring on the left and put the band on with it then switch it after the ceremony.

Following! Curious to see others responses! But thinking I won't wear it because my wedding band will wrap around both sides of my e-ring- so FH will most likely just have both rings to begin with.

I'm going to wear mine on my right finger and let him place the band on top. Then switch after the ceremony.

I will likely leave my engagement ring at home . FH doesn't like to dance with me wearing it because the prongs are high and dig into his hands, and I dont know what i would do with it at the reception

I will most likely wear it on my left hand and not worry about them being out of order. That's an easy fix.

Wear it on your right hand then put it back on your left hand after your wedding band goes on. Unless you don't care about order.

I'm going to wear e-ring on right hand, so when the band is put on my finger it is on the vein that goes to your heart.

My right ring finger is fatter than my left.... But my dress has pockets so I'll probably hide it in my pocket until time comes to put it on. But FCIL a has it the opposite way and hasn't ever changed it (this year will be their 2nd anniversary)

I didn't wear it during the ceremony, and it was brought up by the officiant right before we were pronounced at the end of the ceremony. the best man had it, and something about how "just like the engagement ring signifies protecing the wedding ring..." or some such. Then it was put on over my wedding ring.

I'm like @future mrs.jkr - my right ring finger is fatter than my left, and I don't have pockets on my dress. I'll probably have my mom or sister hold my e-ring during the ceremony and then put it back on for the picture before the reception.
