Help!! The plates will be at the buffet table, so what will I do at the place setting??? Will it look stupid to have nothing? We aren't doing linen napkins....ugh!

We did a BBQ buffett, rented the linen napkins though. We got them VERY cheap since the reception was at the resturant itself, but I'm pretty sure they can be rented cheaply at other places. Glassware is expensive, we stuck with plastic! We had a margarritta machine with the good ol plastic cups next to it, then "nice" plastic champagne glasses that I jazzed up with ribbons on the tables. I also found personalized napkins on ebay, 50 for about 10 bucks. Then there were the favors and little scrolls. With all that and the centerpieces, the tables were pretty full.

@Future Mrs. Cooper....Believe it or not, I found my runners and napkins at the Christmas Tree Shop in the fall. You can also check out Dollar Tree. They have similar. Bed Bath and Beyond have some lovely spring damask napkins.

A thank you card would be lovely.

I am using plastic bar ware for mixed drinks and beer(solo cups). The venue has wine glasses for our Sangria. My glassware water goblets and flutes will only be at my place setting for the ceremony, appie hour, dinner and cake cutting. THe caterer will then remove and return to the rental place. I am going to have some back up plastic that match my ivory/gold rented china. It is a little pricey, but I am anal about matching.

Oh Carole! I'm anal about everything coordinating as well!! FH wants a couple of kegs of Shiner, so I might have solo cups outside with the keg, I refuse to have it in the middle of everything! lol!! The hall has an outdoor sitting area as well, so I think that will be perfect!

And Hayley, you are at it again! I love it!

MrsCooper....I am putting the keg and Solos totally out of site...like on the venue's deck. It is bad enough that my venue is not "glamorous". I can deal with that, as it is a "biker's residence" but I can try and class it up a bit.

Have you considered chargers for just your head table or sweet heart table. There is no room for us to have chargers on guest tables, so I am having copper chargers for the head table.

For fancy plasticware try www.smartyhadaparty.com They have "resposables" items that are disposable but can be used again because they look nicer and are more durable than regular plastic.

I'm having buffet as well, and the silverware will also be at the buffet table. So I'm putting napkins and favors at each place setting Smiley smile I'm thinking of doing a napkin with a flower on each (probably going to go to a wholesale place and buy a bunch of matching flowers)

You could also do plastic silverware wrapped with your napkins!

(I'm attaching pics of all of these things- they probably wont be in order though) oh and obviously the two pictures that have plates.. just ignore the plates lol

@FMC - I'm doing the same thing. BBQ, plasticware, clear plastic cups, and so forth. Anyways, I was going to put a favor with a flower at each chair(on the table, lol), and s&p and butter on the tables to keep the line moving faster so no one boggs it down buttering their rolls. I'm not doing cloth napkins, it would just be asking to have them ruined. I hope that helps! =)

FMC - What kind of boot are you wearing? I picked out my BMs boots, and they already bought theirs! I'm going back and forth between Tony Lamas and Gringos....

The ones I REALLY want are Old Gringos....but they are $500+, and FH about had a heartattack!

The ones I'm wearing were the first gift he ever gave me and a practical joke...they are Corral brand. The brown ones are the wedding ones, and then the black ones are the ones we bought this weekend!

I like those top ones! What are those!?

The Tony Lama ones I'm still thinking about, haven't really felt good about getting them...

The Gringos are the ones I would LOVE to have but, $500... and I just can't justify that!
