Emily Kay, on February 28, 2016 at 12:46 AM Posted in Planning 0 15

I have my flight booked on Frontier Airlines for April.

I'm worried about flying with my dress but I'm also worried about shipping my dress..

What have you guys done?

Welcome Emily and Congrats! When I mentioned my destination wedding to my bridal consultant she told me they'll pack it in a wedding dress suitcase for me. I'll be able to use it as carry-on luggage, so no extra cost/fees! ETA: This picture came from Google search. I've never heard of this type of suitcase until my bridal consultant mentioned it. I'm flying jetblue, and they suggested buying another ticket for the dress! What fucking ever!

Oh interesting!! Good to know! I'll look into it! Frontier is stingy and I have to pay for all bags besides a purse or backpack. But a $25 flight and $30 baggage is a lot better than shipping and being so scared to lose the dress!.

    Thank you

Be careful their not to have too many suitcases. Frontier charges for every carry-on, even purse.

If your flight was that cheap, I would have bought an extra ticket for my dress. My friend flew with her dress and upgraded to 1st class so she could hang her dress.

Yes, carry on your dress. You don't want something to happen and not have a dress. If you pack it up, when you get where you are going hang it up asap in the bathroom and turn on a steamy shower. This will get out the majority of wrinkles

I spoke with my travel agent, and she said to call a couple weeks before I leave, to see if I can hang it in the plane. If not, I'm taking it on as a carry on, and I'll oh the extra fees. We're doing a Mexico wedding, so I'd prefer it in my sight line the entire trip!

Frontier is your first mistake. A good airline will keep it hanging up front by first class

Frontier is notorious for nickel and diming its passengers. You'll definitely have to pay to stow it, if there's any room. You'll also enjoy the smallest amount of leg room on Frontier in the airline industry

I'd call Frontier and explain the situation. The last time I flew them, I don't even recall a place to hang anything unless they have some hidden place in the galley.

@Janelle. The seamstress is packing it for us at no additional cost. Also call Jetblue. I was told the flight Attendants will sometimes let you hang your wedding dress in their closets, but there's no guarantee.

The resort is steaming my gown, so I have no problem packing it!

Definitely fly with it, and take it with you as a carry-on!

I love frontier. Never have had any issues with them. We're paying for our wedding and honeymoon by ourselves and moving 900 miles in a matter of a week, so I am trying to pinch every penny I have to be able to afford it all. I'll look into the kit and also contact frontier. I should have ordered it and shipped it to my destination location instead of Denver, but oh well.

    Thanks for all the help!
