Flowerless Wedding

Danielle, on January 5, 2019 at 6:37 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 26

Hello Brides,

My fiance’ and I are planning a Wedding and reception with no flowers. My petal person (teenage niece) will have fake petals to put down and that’s it. The issue I am having is finding inspiration for our ceremony and reception decorations. It seems to me that all of the floating candle ideas have been over done. My bouquet will consist of brooches from family members and my bridesmaids will have feather and brooch bouquets. I’m hoping you all can help me find more inspiration.

Happy Planning,

Dani

Ostrich feathers seem to make nice centerpieces and you can get them in multiple colors.

We are also doing flower-less and leaning into a theme for our centerpieces. We have a literary theme, so the centerpieces will be books tied with ribbon or twine and electric tea lights.

I think the brooches you are using would work to inspire a vintage theme for your tables - vases with feathers and maybe fake pearls or flea market necklaces/brooches arranged around them?

You can try getting some paper lantern lights and filling the inside with feathers for your centerpiece!

For center pieces you could use a circle wood slab and lanterns with candles.

I went on amazon and got wine bottle corks that have fairy lights attached, we are putting those into empty wine bottles for centerpieces.

I’m doing something just like these too! I’m also using preserved rose petals and leaves to scatter around, but you could easily just not use them or use something else non-floral as an accent.

Good idea the floating candles! I love fake flowers or satin flowers for my wedding but I am not going to have a flower girl. There are scented candles I got on sale for $2 at H.E.B. and dollar tree have led lights they look cute different colors you can get around Valentine day candles. I might do twinkling lights on gazebo or arch.

There are all kinds of lighting options. Lanterns! All kinds of styles. We bought gold candelabras on eBay (for about $20 each) and they looked fantastic (check to see if your venue allows open flame though).

No we don’t really have a theme. Our colors are black, white and rose gold. It will be a very intimate wedding. We were thinking the use of candles would make it more romantic.
