Flower girl/ring bearer proposal wording help

Denise, on July 12, 2019 at 1:44 AM Posted in Planning 0 11
Hi guys,

I posted a few months ago and asked about clever ideas on how to ask my niece to be my flower girl/ring bearer. I decided to let my 18 month old niece do both because we are having a small intimate wedding in Italy---only 12 guests total, no bridal party, just one flower girl/ring bearer. The parents, my bro and sis in law, get so excited whenever I drop hints that I'm making her my flower girl... she's my first and only niece and would love to share this experience with her.

So anyway, enough of the back story. I'm "proposing" to the parents in two weeks... just wanted to share and maybe polish or fine tune my proposal. Any ideas would be appreciated! TIA! Here's what I have so far:

To Aria, my (or our?) favorite niece,

Please join us in Italy

And be my (or our?) Bella

of Petals and Rings...

Does it make sense? I've been trying to figure out if I should replace the word Bella or not. Some ideas were Princess or Lady or even Baby... another is "be in charge of the petals and rings"... however, to me, being "in charge" doesn't sound very romantic! And, should I use "my" or "our"??? Lol, I'm not sure! Help!!! Thanks again!

My and then our makes a little bit more sense to me.

I mean they both work. I'd put our only because she will be his niece too and it shows he's excited for that IMO.

I definitely like our for the second time, and either works for the first. You could say bearer of petals and rings. I think lady of petals and rings is cute too though. Such a thoughtful idea!

    This is so sweet, Denise!

Have you decided what wording to go with?

Thanks! We decided to do my favorite niece and our bearer of petals and rings; “bearer” is neutral so we loved this idea!

Our save the dates are printed cookies which (hopefully) would look like an Italian tile! Can’t wait to see the finished product!

My granddaughter will be 9 at the time of our wedding. As is my grandson being her sane age. Do you think they are to old to join in or perhaps it doesn’t really matter.

No, I have not received any edible Save The Dates before. That’s why I’m so glad I was able to do it for our wedding! Now we can move on to the next wedding project—which my wedding dress! Needed some advice on that as well... here’s my post: https://www.weddingwire.com/wedding-forums/buy-dress-from-bridal-shop-or-get-it-made-by-a-local-designer/2a69cb02414b35f7.html
