Florists- reasonable pricing?

Emily, on July 28, 2021 at 6:23 PM Posted in Pennsylvania Planning 0 9
Hi! My fiancé and I are starting to look at Florists- our venue has an in house florist who we’d like to work with but have no idea if their priced to expensively. Their contract begins at 3200. For reference on location of venue, we live in the suburbs of Philly. If anyone has any thoughts or advice I’d appreciate it!

Price depends on so many things but mainly your location. Even then no two people in the same city will pay the same price.

What is included in that price? Are they willing to negotiate or is it set in stone? Call around your area for price quotes to compare. Usually you can use thumbtack.com to get an idea of starting prices but there is no way to estimate without calling for a specific quote.

Thanks for your answer! I’m waiting on a response from them to see what they say is included. I have done some research and it seems like that’s a common price for where we live. I will check thumbtack.com though. Thanks!

Hi Emily! Like Michelle said, so much goes into florist pricing!!

The biggest factor will be how many pieces you are ordering (how many centerpieces, bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, arrangements, etc.), and the flowers you choose can also be a big factor! WeddingWire's Cost Guide has a ton of great pricing information and details you can check out: Wedding Flowers Cost Guide for Philadelphia .

Here are a few great discussions to check out as well with details about different couples floral budgets and what that looks like:

Hey Emily! May I ask how much you ended up spending? I’m in the Philly area as well and struggling with how expensive some of the quotes are!

    Hi Laura!

So we are spending around 4,000… 😳 It’s more than I wanted us to spend but I couldn’t find anything cheaper that I thought would be good quality! Luckily the florist we chose helped us make some cheaper choices! Where are you in the area? I can recommend her if you want!

Thanks Emily! This is super helpful. We were quoted around $5k but trying to work with the florist to get it down to $4k. I feel like with the pandemic everything has gotten more expensive in this area compared to when me friends were planning in 2019! Which I get, but bad timing for us lol!

You’re welcome! I feel like that too! It’s crazy, It’s also like there’s a rush to make a decision because vendors know they’ll get someone no matter what, so many people are trying to re do their weddings now and it’s just a huge mess! And you just have to throw down so much money for a deposit!

It depends on what kind of flower arrangements you want. I spent around $1000 for my flowers. I had 3 center pieces for my ceremony space which I also used for my reception area, 10 boutineres, 5 bouquets for my girls and they used them to decorate the head table with and my bouquet. I had roses for my bouquets and boutineres and floral arrangements for the 3 centerpieces. I went to Paul Beale’s Florist on Ogontz Avenue
