Florida wedding mid November

Morgan, on June 29, 2020 at 7:59 PM Posted in Florida Planning 0 7
Our wedding is in Florida in a city where there are only 40 COVID-19 cases right now. My emotions are so up and down, one day I think everything is fine and then the next day someone asks me if I am going to postpone. Our guest list is around 130. I personally think it is too early to call and will probably wait until around August to make a decision. November brides/Florida brides what are you all thinking?

130 is a lot. I am getting married in November in Tampa Bay but a very intimate ceremony in which even with officiant and two photographers we will be under 10 people. Just remember cases in Florida are going up so I would as are all 130 guests from your area or from cities where the cases are high? I may not cancel but maybe encourage guests with possible symptoms to wear their masks. I know it is not photogenic but you don't want to risk your health or others. I would not postpone honestly as nothing is certain with Corona, if anything I would sooner cut down the guest list before canceling but that is me.

The way things are going right now i honestly would be preparing to cut the guest list drastically. i can't imagine an event with over 50 people being allowed with the trajectory we are on especially in florida.

I am from Tampa Bay and the cases have spiked so I would ask are all your guests from your county or from outside. A friend of mine that works at the gym I go to just told me that on of the personal trainers tested positive and was asymptomatic. Personally I would not postpone. I am doing an intimate ceremony in November but we are under 10 and I am already contacting all vendors if we are good to go since we are having an intimate ceremony. Even if my venue could not operate I have asked my MOH could we use her backyard. I would as the PP said prepare to cut the guest list so that you can still have your day. I do not think that things will be miraculously better by November because people do not take it seriously. Maybe encourage face masks?

I’d say keep waiting a bit. My wedding is October in rural NC and my guest list is 150. I am thinking that some will decline because of COVID concerns, but at the moment I’m not planning to cut my list. I’m still waiting to see how our governor relaxes restrictions.

I'm in North Central Florida (outskirts of Gainesville) and my wedding was to be on Nov 7th but we postponed last weekend till Feb 6th... I would have kept the original date but between my FH, Dad and FMIL they are are concerned with the Covid19 spike in Florida.. Hopefully by Feb it will have calmed down... it's going to happen one way or another.. I'm not postponing again...lol

We're planning our wedding in early October in the Keys. Our max count will be about 50. Cases are definitely spiking, I just don't see the government shutting down entire cities / towns over the spike. This would be an economical disaster (more so than it already is). I believe now if business close doors it's of their own free will and more thank likely because they're going out of business.

In your instance, I'd be hard pressed to continue with a guest list of 130, I'd consider lowering that to a more acceptable by CDC guidelines number and with the thought to keep everyone safe. It is definitely still early to call it, but I'd not cancel just make the guest list much smaller.
