Are you wanting to have the legal paperwork done in a different state for a special reason? You can get the legal paperwork in the same place as the wedding as long as you get the paperwork in the right time frame. Check the county website.

Andi is right. You will want to check with the county you are getting married in, or if one of you are resident of a county in North Carolina. Some states require out of state ones to have a 3 to 7 day waiting period before they will issue the license.

Also, if I could suggest something. You have the double ring avatar. If you change the avatar photo to something else usually more people will click on the thread. It just helps us to be able to remember you better. Have fun planning!

This link has some info http://usmarriagelaws.com/search/united_states/north_carolina/ You would still need to check with the county to make sure it's still correct.

MrsE I'm still checkin out photographers up there theres only a couple in her town most are about 1-2 hrs away, the food would be from local restaurants because there isn't much up there, a little pizza parlor and some fast food places

Gambol Photography and Anything Music Djs will travel anywhere in the state in case your options don't work out. They are phenomenal. Good luck!

Even if you did get married in FL, and wanted your wedding in NC, why should there be a problem?? A wedding is just a party celebrating your marriage... any venue and vendors will take your money for your wedding. In other words, you can have your wedding anywhere you want pretty much.

I'm just making sure out of state marriage licenses can still have a ceremony without it being affected I know that sounds confusing hard to explain i guess lol

It depends, are you of a religious affiliation? if so, the religious leader will marry you if you haven't been married by that religion...

If its a non-demoniation officiant... i'm not sure..ask the officiant??

Your marriage license won't be out of state if you get it in Florida, it will be an actual marriage certificate. You will legit have to get married in Florida and then have a ceremony in NC, it will not be a legal ceremony so it won't matter what your paperwork says. Unless you're getting married in church....then it will depend on the church.

I am a resident of IL and getting married in NC. Doesn't look like a holding period but the marriage lisence needs to be turned in by your officiant the next day. You can get married in NC and not in FL too just FYI, you don't have to be a resident of the state you get married in...

You can get legally married in Florida before going to NC. You'll just need to let your officiant know that you are already legally married.

Or you can get legally married in NC after getting a NC marriage license. FL will recognize your NC wedding.
