My FH and I are going the super nontraditional route and are going to get ready together and have the photographer take pictures of him buttoning my dress up and me adjusting his tie and whatnot. I suggested waiting until first look photos and he thought that was just silly. Been together 8 years and I think we'll both be a bit anxious about being the center of attention so we want each other for comfort.

Its personal preference but we decided to do first look because;
- we liked the idea of the first look being more private and felt it would be more intimate without distractions.
- We looked into other couples’ first look photos and loved the interactions the photographers were able to capture because of the intimacy.- I feel like i’ll be able to get a more honest reaction out of my fiancé in a private setting- I wanted our first look photos to be of us together rather than individually (him at the altar, and me walking down the aisle)- We see it as an opportunity to catch that wow moment up close

I love that idea. It would take the pressure off of me being the center of attention. It is wonderful that you want each other for comfort. I hope your day goes well and that you are able to enjoy your time together!

View Quoted Comment No not doing it ….lol as much planning as we are doing, I want my husband to me breathless and blown away….plus we have 8 hrs of different photos and video footage and doing taping during the makeup and dressing footage and the groom s footage it will be magical… but anyone doing the first look I applaud you .. and I know it will be a beautiful experience and I’m sure anyone doing it will look amazing many blessings

My FH and I are doing a first look. The first look allows us to get the pictures out of they way and relax the rest of the night. Personally I understand why people wouldn't do a first look. For me the decision was because I get frustrated when I'm rushed. Leaving after the ceremony for pictures would stress me out. Knowing that, a first look is perfect for us and our day. The whole bridal party will be going out for breakfast that morning, then separating to different salons/barber shops to get groomed for the day. After that we will go get dressed, do the first look, take photos and head to the ceremony venue, where we have suites that will have snacks and drinks for us to relax before the ceremony.

And I have too make sure that my bridal party has that done a few days before the wedding and not have our time backed up. And I plan on tell our photographers to take as many as they can from the groom and groomen and bride and my Squad. So I have time for me too get ready and not waiting for no one.
