First Dance... Can't dance.. HELP!

Gina, on June 21, 2011 at 3:50 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 9

Lol. I can't dance but would love and still will have a first dance (somehow). Who else doesn't know how to dance well and is still doing it regardless. Did you learn? How'd you go with it. Smiley smile

Any advice please!

We got a private instructor and went every week for 1 month and then every other week for two weeks. We danced a waltz to MoonRiver. It was beautiful and got many compliments. Just take lessons, but start early. The number 1 complaint from brides about their first dance is not taking lessons and starting them sooner.

    Good luck!

FH promised me ONE dance for our LIFETIME (CAN YOU SAY, HE DOESN'T DANCE?). I love to dance but will do the 6th grade sway for this one just to be in my husband's arms. I plan to go back to ballroom dance sometime next year.

I have the dance moves of a watermelon...none! FH is pretty good, and he's pumped, wants to take lessons with me and snaz up his moves on the floor. Ugh! I guess we'll make it work.

We are both awful dancers, so we hammed it up as awful dancers - pretending we were about to step on each other's feet, etc. The guests all started cracking up, and then singing along with our wedding song to encourage us.

We just spun around in circles over and over. I don't think anyone expects you to be dancing with the stars quality. We talked and kissed and enjoyed one of the few uninterupted moments we had together that day. It wasn't very graceful probably but it was at least a bit better than with my dad and I. He has a trach (I am not sure you can see it in the picture or not?) so he kept having to put his hand up there to talk to me lol.
