No need to be nervous! Just have fun trying on some dresses. If you don't like them, don't buy them. I went into my first shopping experience not planning to buy anything, and I just had fun trying out some different styles.

Go in with an open mind and try on styles you don't necessarily think you'll like. Drink lots of water and be sure to eat before. Wear comfy nude undergarments if possible. If you have any idea what type or height shoe you might want to wear on the big day, bring some with. I made sure to do my makeup and something with my hair to make the "final look" a little more realistic. You don't have very long until your wedding, so you'll need to order soon, but don't order a dress unless you know you love it.

Go in, enjoy yourself, and do not allow yourself to be pressured! Your first appointment should be for you to decide what it is you like and don't like, what designers you prefer, what fabrics, colors, styles, etc. If you do happen to find a dress in your first appointment (I did!) GREAT! But just remember that the first appointment should not be stressful.

In terms of practical advice, make sure you're hydrated and have eaten. Those salons can get pretty warm, and those dresses can be heavy, and the last thing anyone needs is you fainting Smiley smile (Also, having food in your belly will help you know what a dress would feel like after you've eaten your reception dinner lol). Wear nude and/or seamless undergarments if you have them. If you know you're wearing heels (even if they're not THE ONES you plan to wear) bring them along.

When you try on a dress, make sure you can walk, stand up, sit down, move around, etc. Bring a hair clip or something if you'd like to see what it will look like with your hair up. Wear a moderate amount of makeup (if you wear it regularly) so you can see a "kind of close" look.

And of course, most importantly, be honest with your consultant. Tell them when you like things, tell them when you don't. They are there to help you find what you LOVE!
