Finalizing Timeline for 4:00pm Wedding! Need input!

Bethany, on August 16, 2020 at 11:35 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 4

So, I've been tossing up where to put the first dance, cake cutting, and bouquet toss. This is the timeline I made - things to consider: I am only having 2 toasts (1 from MOH and BM) and I am also having a first look. Here's what I have!

First dance after your grand entrance is a good idea since all eyes are on you already

I agree with Melle, doing the first dance immediately after your grand entrance would be a good place in the timeline. I think doing the cake cutting after the toasts would be best, once open dancing starts, I wouldn't recommend interrupting it. I would also maybe move the bouquet toss and such to after the toasts as well. Depending on how many toasts there are, you could spread them out by doing a toast, then cake cutting, then another toast, then bouquet toss, etc.

I would do your first dance right after your entrance. It is an easy transition. That is how we did it and it really worked out well.

I would do the cake cutting after dinner. People will already be at their tables, so it makes it easy to have dessert then.
