favors - what's the WORST one you ever received?

So, people are always asking if they are necessary (and they're not) and what the best ones were (most people say edible is the best) but just for fun, whats the worst one you ever got? Mine was a rolled up scroll thingy with a cutsie poem on it, thanking everyone for coming. Complete with a fake silver wedding ring around it. It was about as big as a post it note. Could've put that on the back of the program, what a waste of money and time to roll them all up... anyway what about you? :-)

Snarky, we are doing lotto tickets as well!

While I wasn't disgusted by the favor, the worst was from last summer. It was a little bag with five or six salt water taffy candies in it. The favor bag and the candies didn't really match any other part of the wedding. It wasn't that they were bad, they were just really random. Almost like an afterthought.

A succulent. I know they are all over Pinterest right now, but I can't keep a plant alive. If I wanted a plant (which I don't) I would buy one. Not to mention half of the plants, which were also used as escort cards, weren't decorated and just in the small little orange/brown plastic planter box thing. The other half had burlap and ribbon... There wasn't really a rhyme or reason either. Like FH's was wrapped but mine wasn't so it wasn't by table or anything.

I'm with Future MP-- favors are a huge waste of money. That said, I prefer the edible ones, cause I like sweets, so at least I get some candy! The worst I ever got was a miniature (abot 2-3 inches high) Space Needle, cause that's where the couple went on their first date, or met, or something. I'll tell you, the Space Needle holds no sentimental value to me, and I was not at all interested in having one. I felt bad for the couple, cause I'm sure they cost a lot more than a more traditional bag of candy!

I don't remember crappy favors because I don't take them if I don't want one. For the most part, I don't "get" favors either. However, I'm doing koozies because I get stupidly excited when people have them at their weddings. They're pretty popular around here. I plan to stage them at the bar rather than on the tables so there will be less of a guilt trip for people who don't want one to take one.

Back when people smoked, brides and grooms would give out matches with their names and wedding date on them. That kind of made sense, but now people sometimes give out things that look like matchbooks but have paper in them. Like WTF??

    Skip favors. Ugh.

I love the Jordan almonds...but I think that's because Portuguese and we always had them in around the holidays when I was a kid.

The worst favor I've gotten was those yucky mints. They were wrapped in tulle in a small plastic brandy glass. The bride & groom didn't have anything personalized on it so it wasn't like it was something I could keep to remember the wedding. It ended up in the garbage.

The best favor I've gotten was a shot glass. I love shot glasses and collect them so I was excited to get one to have as a souvenir for my friend's wedding.

Reading all these comments has me almost totally convinced not to do favors at all. We did save-the-date CDs. I'm tempted to just consider that a favor and be done with it. My mom wants to do Hershey kisses with stickers on the bottom in a little heart box and I'm so not into it...

I'm doing scratch tickets as a favor. Every guest will get a little envelope that says "For Richer, For Poorer" with a penny stuck to the front of it & inside will be a $2 ticket. We're estimating about 115 guests so it wont be too pricey & definitely not something that people will throw away! I'm hoping someone wins big!

The worst was definitely a giant cookie that was hard as a rock! But some that I actually did like were a jar of honey (meant to "bee" theme)... a shot glass, & a mason jar with ingredients for hot cocoa!

I don't remember the favors for any wedding I've attended. OH.... my cousin had handmade lavendar soaps as favors, which was nice. They were a gift from my sister who made them.

Our favors were awesome, people still talk about them, and I've seen them on display when I pop over to their houses. Handpainted maracas and custom made/custom labeled hot sauces.

A little jar of honey. I'm not a huge honey fan. Plus we couldn't bring them on the plane with us so we ended up having to ship them home. Now they are just sitting in the cabinet :/

I don't want to complain though. It is always a nice gesture to give your guests a little something. What they choose to do with it is their decision.

I vote do aomething that can double as a favor!!

We had to buy alcohol drinking glasses anyways. So we did mason jars (dun fun duuunnnmm), and I tied a little name tag onto them. If people didn't take them, who cares, I had to buy something for them to drink alcohol out of anyways!

I've never gotten a bad favor. I got a small bag of coffee (from the couples favorite local shop), those coaster photo frames.....and I think that's it.

Yeah, we are ditching the favors. If anything- we might do fancy candy apples for our fall wedding
