Favors for Destination Wedding

Sabrina, on January 31, 2018 at 4:33 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

I need ideas on kinds of favors to give for my Destination Wedding. I really wanted something cute and unique and something they would use/enjoy. Should the favor be a little more expensive since their coming out all the way to another country?

I don't think you need to buy something more expensive just because you are having a destination wedding. I would focus more on something that was a treat, like something only available locally or made locally. e.g. rum from Jamaica, Kona coffee beans from Hawaii etc.

I don't know how many guests your planning and what your budget is, but I had friends who treated their guests to a catamaran ride and snorkeling excursion the day before their wedding. That was essentially their favor to us for coming. It was an awesome experience and we didn't have anything extra to bring on the plane back home. There might be some type of activity you could treat everyone to instead of a favor.

Don't get favors. Instead, spend the money on upgrading the meal or the bar or adding on a farewell brunch or a welcome dinner or something.

Agreed. Nobody wants another thing they have to carry home on a plane, and I guarantee you will have a lot leftover of whatever it is!

We ordered these color changing tumblers on Amazon... our DW is at an all-inclusive resort in Mexico. most guests are staying 3-5 days. these are fun and can be used all week (the cups and a small welcome bag with local goodies, like tequila for the adults, candy for the kids will be delivered to their room prior check-in).

we thought these would be fun - that's the only reason we ordered them. we are also fully prepared for them to be left behind or forgotten. we did not order expensive gifts just because guests are traveling out of the country. we did decide to host a few extra events in addition to the wedding. (s'mores on the beach Thursday night and a Sunday brunch)
