Fall Brides-Wedding Favors

Spidel8, on September 9, 2015 at 6:24 PM Posted in Planning 0 16

Since Fall is right around the corner I wanted to know what my fellow fall brides are doing for favors? We're not having a fall 'themed' wedding, but I love fall flavors and want hints of fall throughout. I was thinking of apple cider donuts in cute bags (see below) and tying a packet of apple cider to it.

    Those bags are so pretty!

My only concern is how perishable cider donuts are - they go dry fast, but at the same time the oil is likely to soak through the paper bags quickly... a solution could be to put them in a plastic bag inside the paper one - you could probably use the small size ones from a craft store in the food section.

A less perishable option would be some fall harvest candies, or marshmallows. My MOH got the most amazing hand-decorated white-chocolate dipped Oreos on Etsy, and the were $.50/ea wrapped in a celo bag with matching ribbon... they were so good, and inexpensive and everyone went crazy for them. Or, there are beautiful Fall themed options like these: https://www.etsy.com/listing/81139325/thanksgiving-cut-out-cookies-leaf?ref=shop_home_feat_4

We aren't doing anything fall related. We are going to order koozies because they are super cheap.

Yes, both of those are a worry of mine too. Thanks for the idea Rebecca of putting it in a plastic bag before the pretty outter bag. Those cookies on Etsy are super cute!! I'm going to look into that more. I never even thought of looking for food items on Etsy.

Date twin!! I am having my wedding fall themed. I originally wanted to go with caramel apples, but I am having a caramel apple bar at the reception instead. I did reach out to a local apple orchard to see if I can order apple cider donuts in bulk. My thought was to use little cellophane bags and tie them with twine.

I LOVE apple cider donuts so I'd be all about this. I do share Rebecca's concerns though. We're doing a charitable donation for our favors, so I I'm not very helpful there.

I'm doing anything specifically fall related, but then again the SF Bay area doesn't really have fall. Our favors will be the place cards which will be little succulents for everybody.

What about just the apple cider mix in like a cute container??? Kind of how they do the hot chocolate kits in the winter. I'd be worried about the donut getting squished.

Mellymel-I love the idea of having a caramel apple bar at your wedding! Thats a cute idea with the cellophane bags. I saw that Etsy makes cute little stickers to put on bags, so thats an option.

KMess-I was just at a wedding that was poker themed. They gave everyone a poker chip to select the charity of their choice for a donation. LOVE that idea!

FutureMrsD. thats a fantastic idea!! I would have never thought of that. Maybe I could find a fall themed bag or a mug to put the packet in.

We are having apple cider spiked at our cocktail hour and our favors will be jam, homemade by my mother.

I have those bags lol, the cake will go in them. For favors we are doing "a taste of Philadelphia". Guests will leave with a bag filled with a philly soft pretzel, tastykake, and peanut chew. We're also thinking of bags of candy corn at each table

Each guest is getting a loaf of brioche bread with jam or apple butter. I originally was thinking of an apple stand with apple bags and people could fill a bag during the night to take home.

We're not doing anything Fall related, more of a local treat (praline candies)

We were originally going to go with smores or carmel apples but ended up deciding to get candy molds in the shape of leaves and acorns and making various candies in fall colors as our favors.

Maple syrup. Engaged in Vermont and honeymooning in Vermont, so it fits.

I live really close to Apple Hill (near Lake Tahoe) and they have delicious Apple Cider Donuts. Thinking of having those in cute little boxes or cellophane bags. Tied with twine
