fake wedding rings for ring bearers

Jennifer, on September 3, 2009 at 8:52 AM Posted in Planning 0 26

My ring bearer pillows have fake rings on them but they're gold. Any suggestions on where I can get silver ones??

Check Michaels. They carry little rings that you can tie onto your favors or whatever and I'm pretty sure they sell both colors.

I saw some in the grocery store gumball machine, they were only a quarter!

What is your budget? There are number of ~$10'ish rings out there on most any site that sells jewelery online. Just search for costume jewelery.

I don't think that anyone will notice the fake rings are the "wrong" color. But if it bothers you, I vote painting them.

Wal-mart. I got a really nice set of fake rings for $10!!! Look in the spinning ring thing. The set I got came with 2 rings and to be honest they look a bit like my engagement ring and wedding band set. But I don't think anyone is going to notice the guys ring looks a bit feminine.

Sooo not to sound stupid but who will have the real rings? I have a ring pillow as well but was going to put the actual rings on them... Is this not right, or is there another reason?

No, it's not a stupid question! The ring bearers are only 5 years old. We're not taking anything to chance. My FH will have the real rings.

We are giving the rings to the best man an the maid of honor. Our ring bearer is 2 so yeah he isn't going to see a real ring until it is on our hands. lol. If you feel you can trust your ring bearer with the real rings then go ahead. I personally can't.

Got it thank you so much. I guess it doesnt make a difference for us we do not have a ring bearer we are putting the pillow on a high table so we will not have anything to worry about. Thanks Best of luck finding the rihgs!

Well, I've scoured both Walmart AND the Dollar Store and NO luck. Smiley sad I'll try another Dollar Store and then Michaels. If I still have no luck, maybe I'll rethink having fake rings. The aisle is only 25 feet and we can hand the RBs the pillows JUST before they walk down. And they're essentially walking down to their mother's who will be sitting in the first row. So maybe I can take the chance.

Where you want to look at in the Walmart is where they have the rings on the turn table, not in the case. Like I said, $10 for 2 rings.

Some Wal-Marts have them but it's normally the super wal-mart that have a wedding aisle in the craft section. Also you can check Joanne's.

I had the real rings on there for my first wedding and he was about 6. I tied the bow VERY tight to make sure they weren't going anywhere. And, yes, it's a short aisle for them to worry about if you hand it to them right before they walk and then hand it to an adult at the end of the aisle. When James knew the rings were real he actually took his job very seriously and held the pillow so gently.

What about a party store. We have places like Party Depot and Part Mart that sell things for weddings. They have favors that are rings sometimes for princess parties too. Not sure if that hellps.
