Extremely disappointed with our wedding photos...

We received our photos a few days ago, I was waiting anxiously! And to my surprise, they weren't anywhere near as nice as I thought they would be....many are washed out, off-center, missing details, and lack anything spectacular. And to my surprise, they weren't anywhere near as nice as I thought they would be....many are washed out, off-center, missing details, and lack anything spectacular. The photographer is well-known and has done many weddings..the price was not the most expensive, but not the cheapest either. I regret my choice in photographers.

I have selected a few that are some of the better ones.

Hmmm...if you have an online gallery with the complete lot of them, let me know if you'd like me to take a look. Feel free to email me if you have an online gallery to share. ***@*********************.***

I know it won't give you the day back, but if he really didn't capture some of the important details of your dress/ family you could always ask for a bridal portrait session as compensation, or a family photo shoot, or something like that.

I feel similar too. My photographer normally does great work but I feel like my photos could have been better. Some are good but most are just OK. I feel like they could have been shot better, did better poses, some were weirdly off center. I trusted her completely with her expertise. I am getting over it but its a bummer having had higher expectations!

You looked really beautiful ! Unfortunately I seethe issue with the pictures as well. I am so sorry for your disappointment. But I thinks many of them can be saved by Photoshop. I am correcting pictures as a side business and saved much worse. Ask your Photographer if he can edit them first and if not, demand the raw files and search for someone to correct them.

Yeah, a few of them are crooked/tilted and the color is off in a lot of the indoor pics. The outdoor pics are cute, but are bright, but if it was midday there wasn't much they could do about that. That one of you in the bridal suite would have been ok had they posed you away from the radiator. They could probably correct the color and even adjust the tilt in some, but honestly, they should have done that before sending them to you. I don't know why a photographer would release work that is unedited, it only makes them look bad.

I would definitely reach out to him and make him aware of your concerns. Perhaps he did not edit them for some reason or a mistake was made where he sent them out without completing them. Either way, he should make it right and make you happy. You look beautiful. Congratulations and let us know how everything turns out.

I'm so sorry op! Some of the photos do look very amateur. However, you looked gorgeous and the love between you two shines through! A girlfriend of mine went through something similar with her wedding photos. For their one year anniversary they did a shoot in their wedding attire and the portraits came out gorgeous. Just a thought for you..

I don’t think they are...and if not, why would he show them to her?

I have this concern as well. My fiancé wanted to use a friend of his and he did and engagement session at the beach for us, none of the pictures turned out well and I'm really concerned about our wedding pictures being the same. He doesn't know how to pose people so we came out stiff and I had a double chin in just about every shot when I even mentioned to him to watch out for that! I feel your pain, truly!

@ Jay I emailed you the link to all of the pictures. And thank you, everyone, for saying I looked beautiful, the day was very special. It is heartbreaking to not have an accurate memory of it in photographs. I told my husband we will get some nice fall pictures next year to make up for it.

Hi Fall Bride! I'm so sorry you're disappointed with your wedding photos... After seeing some of the photos you posted, I can see why :-( Did you reach out to the photographer?? I saw you mentioned you were going to, so I'm curious what he said. These photos are definitely not the best quality (as far as editing... If they're even edited), and don't seem like $2,000 photos to me :-\ It appears the white balance is off (in addition to some other things you mentioned, like overexposure in some). Some are overly yellow/orange.

If you haven't already, I'd recommend reaching out to your photographer. A great photographer wants his/her clients to be happy! It won't change the memories of your wedding day, but maybe he can provide a bridal/newlywed shoot to "re-do" some of the poses of you and your husband so you can get some you love (like with your dress). At the very least, maybe he can edit them more to correct color/exposure/white balance.

Please keep us updated. I hope he can fix this a bit for you!

Thanks, Rachel, I had to let everything sink in, I will be contacting him on Monday. I would never trust him to do a redo though, I simply want the raw photographs, so that maybe some can be salvaged as I think @Jay suggested? I also am thinking of doing the first-anniversary photograph that someone had suggested!

Treating yourself to another session in the future with someone new is a good idea Smiley smile Hopefully some photos can be salvaged, but he likely won't give you RAW images (most professional photographers won't; you need a special program to open them). At the least, hopefully he will give you a release for allowing someone else to edit the photos he did provide to you (again, most photographers do not allow others to edit their photos).

Fingers crossed for you! P.S. You were still a beautiful bride! :-) Congratulations on your marriage!

    Thank you Rachel!

So let me share a sidenote-one of the photos,( I'll have to find and share)-highlights someones true emotions, my mom's as I came up the aisle. I think that hurt as bad as the horrible photographs. While on my honeymoon I found out that my mom ripped me apart, stating that how dare I be the center of attention on my wedding day...that she danced all night so she would get noticed, why didn't she get more compliments, and that she was pissed I didn't let her try on my wedding dress...(my aunt told me). My mother used the crap out of me for my wedding, I paid for her dress, shoes, hair and makeup. It cost quite a bit! And what do I get? A kick in the pants, I haven't told her I know what was said, and do I ?

She is an old woman, it probably won't solve anything, you are right Kristin.
