Ever had Dominican Cake? What does it taste like? Did you like it>?

It’s really sweet people love it or hate it. I love sweets but it’s too sweet for me. My mom hates sweets and loves Dominican cake. Good luck I would taste it before making it my wedding cake.

Thanks Ana, this is what I plan to do. I found a baker who only specializes in Dominican cake, but her cake designs and set up is so beautiful and shes the cheapest baker so far. Everyone else is quoting me $1,000 and up.

OMG it’s Delicious when I lived in New York that was all the cake I really ate every time I had a birthday party or any event we will order a Dominican cake best cake ever delicious 😋. But be aware not everybody knows how to make it .

Hey Azzie! As a Dominican, I love Dominican cake. My family has it at almost every big celebration. I would say definitely make an appointment to sample the cake. I like my cake super sweet so the sweetness of the frosting and the cake doesn't bother me but it does bother other members of my family. Traditionally the cake is super moist because it has pineapple mixed into the batter in addition to a layer of fruit purees such as guava or pineapple. The frosting is a hard frosting similar to merengue. Also, many Dominican bakeries charge by the pound of your cake vs a flat fee for let's say a 3 tier cake.
