I was engaged for six months. We got engaged at the end of February and we were long distance. We had the goal to close our distance by the end of this year. My lease where I lived previously ended on August 31. We decided we could compromise on any weekend in September but September 2nd was available and happened to be the anniversary of the day we met.

I've been engaged almost 3 months. Got engaged back on September 22nd, 2017. Getting married, exactly 1 year later, on September 22nd, 2018. I don't think there's any set amount of time that's "too long" Smiley smile

We were engaged on 9/10/16, married 10/14/17, so just about 13 months.

I don't know if I'd consider anything less than 2 years "long".

We got engaged on our 5th anniversary and are getting married on our 6th anniversary. We knew we wanted to get married on our anniversary because we love that time of year & didn't want to have to remember another date haha

Our engagement will be a full calendar year.

Engaged 11/17/17 and married 12/1/18, right at a year. Would have gone for earlier in the year but that wouldn't have worked for either of our jobs or out of town family.

We got engaged on March 5, 2017 and married on October 7th, 2017. It was just over 7 months. A short engagement worked very well for us.

We got engaged December 16th, 2016 (yay, a year tomorrow!!) And we'll be getting married October 7th, 2018. Just shy of two years Smiley smile

It's working great for us, we bought a house in March, two friends were married in May, one in July, just easier to have a long engagement Smiley smile

We got engaged Oct. 2015 and got married March 2017, so our engagement was a year and 5 months. It didn't really feel like a super long engagement, though...we were busy planning. Friends commented that because it was over a year, it was kind of long, but I don't really agree. We sat down about a month after he proposed to start talking about potential dates, and we plugged a date a year from that point into either the Knot or WW to see the checklist and we decided it looked too rushed and we'd rather look at dates a few months after that to spread out the work a little more and make things a little more enjoyable.

Currently engaged 9 months and have just over 10 months to go. It's a long engagement in my book but we needed time to save for the wedding we wanted.

I felt like I had a very long engagement (16 months) since a lot of people in my region are only engaged about 4 months, so I was irritated it was taking so long. However since reading things on WW it's not a big deal because a lot of people have 1-2 year engagements. I would consider anything over a year and half ish to be a long engagement

Been engaged since August 28, 2016 and getting married June 1, 2018. Originally were supposed to get married on July 8, 2017, but finances weren't where we wanted it. So glad we waited!

I'll be engaged a bit over 4 years by the time my wedding rolls around. The first few years of our engagement, we had some things to figure out (work, finances), and I'm glad we waited until we were in a better place financially and emotionally before we started planning.

ETA: Just wanted to add that people will judge and make comments about the length of an engagement. To that I say, judge away! No one should tell you when YOU'RE ready to have a wedding
