Engagement Rings: Expectation vs. Reality!

Did your vision for your engagement ring match up with what you actually got? FH and I got engaged without a ring, so I showed him a photo of what I wanted. He ended up getting a totally different style I wasn't expecting, but I absolutely love it!

Before we got engaged I thought I wanted an oval halo ring. We went shopping together because I’m way too picky and wanted to make sure I liked the ring. I ended up with a pear halo ring that I love! I’m so glad I went with the pear over the oval, I feel like it suits me so much more.

I feel like my ring is a better version of what I envisioned. I was pretty sure I wanted bezzel set and did not want any small accent diamonds. I got a bezzel set with accent diamonds and it is so amazing. Fiance really put a lot of thought and detail into his design.

FH & I went and picked out rings together when we were talking about getting engaged. I didn’t know it, but the next day, he went back and got the ring I loved from the jewelry store! He proposed with the exact ring I tried on at the store. 😊 It has a round center diamond with a cushion double halo!

I really wanted an Art Deco ring, but my grandma gave my fiancé my great grandmother’s ring to use. It’s definitely not what I envisioned but it’s perfect and I do love it.

I had no idea what I wanted when we went shopping. Then I saw a set that I absolutely fell in love with. Quart cut center diamonds with halo and accent diamonds. FH played it all cool but snuck back a few days later and bought it. I love it!

Oh my gosh! His pick is so pretty!

My FH and I tried my “dream setting” on at the Jewelers but under the lighting I felt that double diamonds crossing bands was a bit too flashy. He bought me my dream setting but surprised me by customizing it with half rose gold. The original has rose gold in the gallery or under area of the center stone so it was a great modification choice. I’m beyond obsessed! A pic of the expectation is on top with reality on the bottom!

I think its so special when it’s a slightly different then what we thought we wanted!

I've always wanted a 3 stone ring. Always fascinated with them. Turns out that when FH proposed, it was with the same exact ring I saw. He had a friend get the dirt on what my dream ring would be. She went back to him with the details so he could get it. I absolutely adore it.

Before we got engaged, FH and I went to Tiffany's and I fell in love with a beautiful aquamarine center stone, with a double halo of diamonds, approx. $10,000. We both knew that was absolutely ridiculous and I searched Etsy to find something for affordable. He ended having my ring custom made; aquamarine center stone, with a halo of blue diamond and a halo of diamonds. I love it and have never seen anything else like it! Just a few weeks ago FH and I went to Tiffany's because I broke my necklace and needed to buy and new one and also get some other items cleaned. We looked around and we both fell in love with the Tiffany Setting engagement ring. FH stated that he is going to up grade my current ring to the Tiffany Setting before we get married next year! I'm so excited. My original ring will always have a special place in my heart and I will continue to wear with pride.

I love love love rings with a bezel so those were the inspo ones I had been sending H.
But I love my e ring even more! It helps the center stone was given to H by my dad and had belonged to my late grandfather. I was the only granddaughter he had the chance to meet and know so I was his girl.

Yes! And I was really worried because I thought I picked out my dream ring with my ex fiancé, but this ring is so much more than anything I could have dreamed. My future husband did so much work and put so much time and effort into the perfect diamond and ring. I couldn’t be happier 💗💗

That’s exactly what I had envisioned, as well. We also got engaged without a ring, so we were able to design it together. I never thought I would want something other than a round stone, but as soon as I put the pear on I knew this was it!

At first my ring wasn't what I had envisioned for myself but FH researched into different rings and styles himself. He thought of my personality and what other types of jewelry I wear (simple and dainty) and went from there. I'm a traditional kind of girl and love simple dainty jewelry so in the end my ring is perfect for me!

I thought I wanted something simple and plain. But, as we started looking at rings I fell in love with square halo style.
