Engagement Ring Vs. Wedding Band?

Mrs. Spring, on November 9, 2020 at 9:02 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 28
Have any of you considered not getting a wedding band? I absolutely love my engagement ring (not any of these pics) and I cant see myself replacing it with a wedding band nor getting a band molded together with it....Engagement Ring Vs. Wedding Band? 1

We are a bit non traditional and I did not get a wedding band! We searched and searched, but I could not come to terms of underplaying my personalized engagement ring. No matter what I tried on, it took away from “the ring”! I’m definitely too obsessed with it to wear something next to it 🤍

You don’t have to get them soldered together. I have both an engagement ring and wedding band. Most of the time, I will wear both but sometimes will wear only my wedding band if I’m doing some kind of physical activity (like going on a hike or working out). Sometimes I’ll even wear my engagement ring on my right hand and only wedding band on left.

I have both a wedding band and engagement, but I didn't have them molded together. You can get both without having them molded together.

I love how my engagement ring and wedding band looks together, in fact my husband is getting me another band for our big wedding and I can't wait! They're not soldered together and one didn't replace the other. I definitely wear them together though

I love the symbolism of a wedding band as well as that portion of the ceremony. I love that someone can see it and know you’re married, an engagement ring alone doesn’t show the same.

A wedding band doesn’t have to replace the engagement ring. Many people, myself included wear them together. As others have stated they do not have to be soldered together. Mine are not. I love being able to wear the band alone for things such as working out and it still shows that I am married.
You have to do what works for you though. I have never seen my aunt and uncle wear rings at all, and that doesn’t make them less married.
If you’re not finding one you like, make sure you check. Variety of stores and try in styles you didn’t think you’d like. And ask for suggestions. The sales lady showed me my band and I wanted to say no thank-you I dont like it at all! But I tried it Anyway and I knew immediately it was the one. We bought it on the spot.

Lots of women wear an engagement ring only. And take it off in situations where it's not practical to wear (cleaning, cooking, physical activities). You're still married whether you own a plain ring or not.

I plan on not getting a wedding band. Personally, I don't need it as I think my engagement ring works just fine. Plus my engagement ring is a woven pattern and trying to match that to a band sounds like a nightmare.

I bought a wedding band, and I'm unsure of what combination of rings I'll wear after the wedding. I currently don't wear my engagement ring unless we go out on a date night or something so it's possible that I'd only wear my wedding band once we're married. Or I might start wearing both. Or none. I think whatever you want to wear is totally up to you - if you only wanted to wear your engagement ring, I say go for it!
