Engagement Ring Vs. Wedding Band?

Have any of you considered not getting a wedding band? I absolutely love my engagement ring (not any of these pics) and I cant see myself replacing it with a wedding band nor getting a band molded together with it....

I wear just my engagement ring! It's an antique, and I don't want to take away from it. Besides, I figure a ring on the left hand means I'm just as taken as having 2.

I will have this band to accompany my e-ring but it took some working finding a wedding band that I loved with my e-ring without taking anyway from it or adding too much. This band was from an estate sale that our jeweler found in NY. I absolutely love it and cannot wait to wear it. Whatever you chose do what is best for you, a ring on the left hand ring finger means the same as two.

You don't have to replace your e-ring or get a band or enhancer soldiered to it. I got a slim, plain, contoured band that I can wear with my e-ring or without, but most days I actually just wear a silicone band instead (I'm a collegiate athletic/recreation director so pretty active and use my hands a lot). I actually probably like either my e-ring or my wedding band on its own better than the rings together, even though I almost always wear them together, so not soldiering them gives me options. For example, I could just wear my wedding band if I wanted to have a dressier ring on but was worried about the stone of my e-ring catching on something or there was a higher probably of my rings getting lost or stolen (like when traveling or if we are in a high crime area). Since my plain wedding band cost just a fraction of what my diamond e-ring did having the option to wear it alone is nice and less risky.

My mom never had an engagement ring and only ever wore just a wedding band. I'd discuss with your partner, because the tradition might have some meaning to them. If they don't mind you not adding an additional ring to your finger and you don't want to, I don't see any reason why it's necessary.

Oh wow that is too flashy for me. I'm leaning towards just sticking with the engagement ring.

My engagement ring came with a small band, like a set. I wear both. They're so pretty together, when we get married he wants to get me a different ring. Honestly i think engagement rings are much prettier. I want to get another engagement ring set when we get married.
