Engagement Party Thank you cards

Melissa, on July 18, 2018 at 11:00 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5

During our engagement party, my FH and I took the time to thank everyone for coming out and helping us make it happen. I would probably write one for everyone but I'm in the middle of a huge and exhausting research fellowship that leaves me drained. I don't want to offend anyone or come off as ungrateful. Do I need to write thank-you cards for everyone who attended or just for the people who we got cards and gifts from?

I would say just the people that you received gifts from. As a guest, I would not expect a thank you note for just attending, nor would I expect one for giving you just a card.

You only need to thank those who gave you a gift but, you must do so promptly.

A note for those who gifted you something!

Best of luck with your fellowship- you've taken on a lot! Smiley winking

I would send them just to those that brought a gift! Good luck with your fellowship!
