Hi fellow brides (and grooms...?),
I'm having engagement photos taken on a Friday afternoon at the end of the month. I'll be getting my hair done a couple days before, so now I'm trying to figure out makeup. We'll be doing photos in central park. I live in Queens in an apartment without much natural light, so to be honest, I'm not that interested in having someone come to me. I'm kind of leaning toward having my makeup done at sephora or ulta, especially since MUAs are so expensive (at least from the quotes I've seen so far). Does anyone have any thought on getting makeup done at either of those places, or any recommendations of affordable NYC makeup artists? Thanks!

I personally like going to Sephora/ Mac than Ulta, I had a bad experience with Ulta.
but plenty of the girls that do makeup, freelance, I would start at a counter just in case it does not go well. If your makeup goes well you can have her freelance for your wedding! that is what I did. Anyway s/o to NYC i used to live in Fresh Meadows!!
Instagram is a great too to locate affordable makeup artist!

Hi Simone!! If you're concerned with the pricing of MUA's in your area then places like Sephora and MAC would be a good place to go. I haven't tried Sephora or Ulta's makeup services but I've used MAC many times and love it. Typically you can walk in but it's always best to schedule an appointment so your spot is secured. I conducted a quick search on the WeddingWire vendor list and found a few other options:

I had hair and mua from Glamsquad (the app) come to my apartment for my engagement photos and they were awesome. I know it's a roll of the dice, but the two that came by way were fantastic.
