Elope abroad? Need a back up :/

Hey ladies! Newly engaged here and totally thrown with all the changes happening due to COVID-19. We're thinking of eloping in Fiji next year and "Zooming" our friends and family in. With Fiji Airways changing their policy over the last few months, I have been looking for a second option. I love the greenery of the gardens in Fiji. They activities for the land & sea, which I love as well (We'll get bored with just a beach after 3 days lol). Not really interested in the Caribbean either, been too many times already.

Any ideas on beautiful garden green ceremony venues abroad? We live in the US. Bali looks amazing but they are closed as well.

Did you elope abroad? Any advice?

Did you research the legalities with marrying abroad there? I know in mexico a couple has to get blood tested.

Well I know some spots will require you to go to the courthouse a couple days prior. We don't mind getting the paperwork done in the US and having the actual ceremony overseas....but wow! I never consider whether or not we need blood work! I'll look into that. Thanks!

I'm sure Fiji is beautiful, and I don't know where in the US you're located, but you'll want to consider the time difference if you plan on live-streaming.

Definitely on board With others: do paperwork in the States first.

TBH, with the state of things, there’s no telling what the future will look like with travel. My fiancé and I live in different countries so we’re just doing courthouse to get the paperwork rolling for immigration. But until we can actually see any positive change in the state of the pandemic we’re not making our plans for our destination eloping.
That said, we plan on going diving in the Galapagos for our first honeymoon (we’re taking advantage of doing three ceremonies).
