Eco Friendly Wedding

Brittani, on May 21, 2019 at 6:58 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 1 12
Hi everyone my fiancé and I would like to have an eco friendly wedding. One issue we have run into is at our venue you are not allowed to drink the water there. Any suggestions on how to have water at our wedding for guests to drink without having to buy bottled waters?

Why can't you drink water from your venue? That seems very odd especially because a lot of food you have to use water to make.

Buy a few gallons of water and put it in pitchers, less plastic waste than bottled water

I second the pp about needing water for cooking. It seems odd to me. The only suggestion I have for drinking water would be to buy a water dispenser and get several 5 gallon bottles of water. The dispenser is about $100 at Lowe's. Might be less at other places. You might even be able to rent one from a rental company. I can't remember how much the bottles cost. But at least you aren't going through cases and cases of the little bottles.

We did water drink stations. You could get a 5 gallon bottle then fill up dispensers. And kudos to you for making it eco-friendly! We tried that too but could have done better in retrospect.

I don’t remember exactly what chemical is too high in it. It’s a brand new venue. Food will be prepared before hand and just heated up.

That would make me really nervous. Like other people have said, I would get several of the 5 gallons of water and buy a water dispenser to serve the water.

We will have about 250 guests. How much water do you think everyone will drink. Food is Indian food.

I'm not sure where you are located but large events where I am have water trucks. They're literally enormous trucks filled with drinking water, there's different sized trucks. You could see if such thing is available in your area. Otherwise maybe asking Lowe's about their dispensers would be good

If you would estimate 1 bottle of water per guest it would be around 32 gallons. There are 8, 16oz bottles to a gallon. Not sure if that would be enough for an entire evening or for Indian food. Might go for at least 40-45 gallons.

I would estimate more than one bottle per guest. I can easily drink 4+ bottles of water depending on the length of time I'm somewhere, the temperature, how active I am (dancing), and the food (spicy/salty).
