Dress Regret?!?!?!!!! Help!

Jessica , on February 28, 2018 at 3:01 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 56

I'm posting this a second time. First time was on my phone and it wouldn't let me add pictures...

Ok, so we were originally getting married at San Francisco city hall and doing a smaller restaurant reception so dress shopping I went. I fell in love with 2 very different dresses. I was torn 50/50. Bought Dress 1. Then our whole wedding changed. Location and style. We are now doing a more traditional outside ceremony and ballroom/banquet reception. I've had a few freak out moments and sh** hit the fan last night. I broke down crying, I don't think I like my dress. It's already paid for but I'm still considering getting the other one I tried on and also loved (and possibly trying on even more dresses). Dress 1 which is purchased is a lace form fitting dress, looking at the pictures now I"m not sure I like how revealing it is for my boobs. Although, it hugs me in all the right places I'm a little uneasy for some reason. I'm a DDD natural and have nursed my daughter so I just don't want to feel too revealing and like I'm going to be worrying all night about how saggy or perky they look. Dress 2 is a show stopping ball gown that I love! When will I ever get the chance to wear a big dramatic ball gown. I struggle with looking sexy and showing off my body and the dramatic ball gown that doesn't show much of my shape. And I take the chance of not being able to resell my lace dress and lose all that money. Help please! Honest opinions appreciatedSmiley smile Oh I'm also going to try on an overskirt with the lace and see if that helps any. I think I'm scared I'm going to miss out on the big fancy ball gown look if I stick with my "vintage look" lace dress.

First of all, you look stunning in that first dress. It was seriously made for your body! But I also really like the ballgown and I definetely think that it is also really sexy on you because of the sheer parts and the dip in the neckline. And the back is really great too. If you want the ballgown...get it. Like you said, when are you ever going to wear a ballgown like that again? I think you have a pretty good chance of being able to sell your first dress because it is so pretty.

Hey girl!! Alike you I'm also a natural DDD and have also nursed and I totally understand the whole sag verse perky look. I love lace and the dress looks amazing on you. I wouldn't want a ball gown but girl It's absolutely Beautiful. Definitely show stopping, and you look Stunning in it. I say go for the ball gown and try to resell dress #1. Also, The back is to die for. Especially how you described your venue change. I've seen this dress on models but not on a real bride and girl you bring it to life; hope this helps!

Thank you ladies! I still love the lace but I think I wish I would have bought all white. The lace has a nude underlay and there was the option of white which I didn't even consider until after the fact because i tried on the nude in store. I love white wedding dresses which is another reason i Love the ballgown. I'm literally driving myself crazy over this. ahhh!

Jessica, you look STUNNING in both dresses. I live in Northern California (not too far from the bay area), I think the ballgown is perfect for your new venue. Also, to be honest, you look so much happier in the pictures of dress 2. I can "feel" your confidence in that dress. To me dress 2 feels like it was custom made for you.

Either dress you choose though will be perfect. Even if you decide to stay with dress 1 that you already purchased, you still look gorgeous in either dress. Do what makes you feel the most confident and comfortable

Just fyi, I am a 38 DD and ended up with a strapless dress with a corset back that I'm in love with. I probably would've never gotten it if it didn't have the corset, even though I loved it because I was scared of my boobs sagging initially, but they look amazing in it. Smiley smile

Dress 2 is unique and looks amazing on you!!! Lace is very common. If I were you I would without hesitation buy dress 2!

You look amazing in both, I'm a lace girl so I like 1 better but you are killing it in #2. I don't think you could make a wrong decision with either one

Honestly they both are so beautiful. Either choice would be perfect. Everyone has different choices. But if I had to choose I would pick dress two.

You look amazing in both! I'd have to say dress 2 though! That has the "wow" factor and I think you really want that dress.

Dress 2 is stunning. but I think number 1 is gorgeous too! What about adding a blingy belt and then adding more crinoline underneath at the bottom to make a more dramatic mermaid?

They both look great on you. If you must buy #2 and can’t sell #1 then wear 1 at the reception

You look absolutely stunning in both of them, so I don't think it's even possible for you to make the wrong decision! I am a classic lace girl, so I would go for #1, but it's your day and you should wear what your feel comfortable and confident in!

Oh, wow you look fantastic in both! I don’t think you can go wrong with either and both are bridal in different ways (lace vs ballgown). I wish I had advice. If you had a ballgown overskirt to use for the ceremony for the lace dress and then took it off for the reception that might help. But the second dress would look amazing in a ballroom. Sorry I’m no help. Smiley xd
