Yes @Kate, when someone who is Polish who decides to do the dollar dance will hesitate doing it, seeing you express "you will feel slimy." I mean hey, your expression wasn't so bad but some people really just don't care how they come across!
I agree appropriating someone's culture is a no no but negatively speaking on it (you're entitled to your opinion) is also tacky and disrespectful
I'm having a dollar dance because I want to and everyone in both our families have done one. I don't think it's tacky or rude or money grabby. I agree with @christina G. Guests aren't obligated. And I find that our family actually enjoys it.
I honestly don't want that many people to touch me or invade my personal bubble, aside from my children and FH. I've been to 2 wedding that have had a dollar dance and it was very uncomfortable to watch.
Lol... @Melissa haters are going to hate and that's ok. You do what you want to do on your wedding day. I'm not ashamed of my families apron dance tradition and I will respect MY family wishes because thats how I was raised and so should any other culture if they wish. People always bring up money and it's not all about that. It's so much more than that. It's my families special time with the bride and groom and at times can get fun and a bit crazy. At least in my family. People are too quick too judge now a days, which is ashame when they should be respectful.
It is insanely popular in my area as people are always posting about a money bag being for sale on the Facebook wedding site. I'm personally not a fan but it always seems like people are doing this
