Does anyone have an odd number for bridal party

erika, on January 20, 2012 at 11:24 PM Posted in Planning 0 15

I want to have 1 more bridesmaid but my fiance doesn't have anyone to ask. How does an odd number work for walking down the isle and pictures?

We have 2 attendants on each side, but then I have an additional 2 junior bridesmaids. It doesn't bother me at all, they are my nieces and I wanted to include them. I'm not sure how we'll have them walking, but probably a few people will be alone because one of my attendants is a guy anyways. Just have who you want to stand up with you, that's way more important than the walk or the pictures. Smiley smile

I have one more BM than he has GM. I'm having my MOH walk right before I do (since I don't have a flower girl) and she will basically be right by me to tend to my train before walking up and down the aisle. The rest will just walk down in pairs.. I figure, she'll stand out this way and be a star Smiley winking

As far as pictures, I'm not really concerned about it.. especially since I know we'll have some creative poses that won't focus on the even or odd number of people in the bridal party.

Dont worry about that - you can have two girls walk on either side of one groomsman! Who said it has to be even?? lol

I had one extra BM at our wedding. I don't really think many people noticed (except the lucky groomsman who got to exit the ceremony with two ladies on his arm).

    MIL-hubby-FIL

    my mom-my brother

    my grandma-best man

    his grandma-GM

    MOH

    BM-GM-BM

    BM-GM-BM

    flower girl

    stepdad-me-bio dad

    It worked out perfectly.

I have 6, FH has 5. FH isn't super stoked on it, because he thinks it makes it look like he has less friends lol but I don't think it's a big deal. One guy just gets to walk with two girls.

Same here! I have my MOH and 3 BM and my FH has his best man and 5 groomsmen. So it'll be 6 & 4. I'm not worried about it. My FH wanted me to ask 2 more people, but I told him those were the only girls I wanted by my side and we don't NEED to be even! PLUS, odd numbers make for better pictures ( in my mind ). My photographer loves odd numbers too! I feel like you don't look so "straight"....I don't know. Hard to explain, but you'll be fine! I love the odd numbers! You can do a lot with it! lots of options!

It's no biggie! You can have them all walk down the aisle one by one, or as @ Gina D suggested...One GM(perhaps the BM?) could have two lovely ladies on his arm! Smiley smile

I don't think its a big deal. We have six BMs and five GM. The best man will have the maid of honor and matron of honor on his arms. I think two BMs with one GM looks fine.

We have 4 girls and 3 guys. What we are thinking at this point is that the guys will be up with FH at the beginning, and the girls will walk in individually. The maid of honor and the best man are married to other people, and then we have 2 couples and my sister. On the way out, MOH & BM will walk out together, couple #1, then couple #2, and then my sister will walk down with the 2 flower girls, who are both my daughters.

Walking in to the reception, my sister will be escorted by my brother, who isn't in the bridal party.

We have one more GM. The GM will be standing up front by the alter with my FH. The BM will walk down the aisle separately. When the ceremony is over, one of the BM will walk down the aisle with a GM on each arm.

We have 2 groomsmen and 1 bridesmaid. I figured they'll walk in and out by themselves.

Any suggestions with taking pictures? No one really answered this question.
