Does anyone do Wedding Favors anymore?

Jasmine, on June 24, 2018 at 1:23 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 41
I have opted to not have favors. I can not justify paying for things that people don’t keep and often times leave behind at the reception. Are you doing favors or did you have favors at your wedding? Why or Why not?!!!

I'll be doing favors/centerpieces. Were putting donuts on cake stands and if peoole wanna take them home, they can. 😊
But were not doing personalized cups, koozies, notebooks, keychains, bottle openers...

We’re doing donuts too! We got little dessert bags on amazon for like $8/100 and I’m going to print a little thank you note on them using my computer.

We're having lots of games at our wedding. We are opting for having game prizes instead of favors and our prizes are going to be parts of the decor we don't need anymore. (We are having lantern centerpieces so it's an easy gift.) That way we don't have so much excess stuff afterward, and the competitive people that want gifts will get them.

That’s a really cute idea! I’m having 8 dozen cupcakes and countless desserts I breifly thought of having a treat box so they can take it home if they choose!

We are photo booth and they will be able to keep a picture. I think it will be fun during the wedding. We are also using the key bottle openers along with our escort cards.

We are having favors. Ordering butter cookies with our faces on them from parker’s Crazy cookies. I feel that favors are tradition and brings an certain element to the wedding. I went to a wedding and they didn’t hand out favors and I was a little put off by it. IMO, it’s something I think should still be done, be it non-traditional, or traditional, but I think favors should be handed out. Some have traveled very far and spent a lot of money/time to come to a wedding, I just think it’s the right thing to do. If it’s a budget thing, I would look at other aspects of my wedding where I could cut.

That’s super clever. I’m getting in Maryland my hime state and live in Florida. So that will help lessen the stuff we travel back with. Do you mind sharing what games you’re guests will be playing?

We didn't do favors. Our guests were wined and dined well. A cheap favor of a bag of M&M's or a corkscrew that breaks the first time you use it is a complete waste of money.

Providing a bag to take home leftovers from food that is served during the wedding is not a favor to me. An edible favor would be if those donuts were brought out at the end of the wedding, either in bulk or individually wrapped, something provided especially to be a favor.

It’s not a budget thing for me. I just don’t like the idea of money being wasted so to speak. All of our guests with the exception of ourselves and 6 guests are coming from Florida. The Florida guests are invited to our Rehearsal dinner as an appreciation gesture. But I get where you’re coming from. Thank you for your view point!

I initially came up with it for all the kids at the wedding but after telling people about it they wanted to participate too. I'm basically doing a challenge with lots of items. We are making a crossword puzzle about us. There will be mad libs, word searches, a make your own card station, fortune tellers and a create our dream homr station with legos and crafting for kids to build what our dream home will look like. For the adults though it mostly the crossword puzzle. We are talking about having everyone at the table that completes the crossword putting their finished ones in a box and then we will draw random winners.

We are doing favors. We were originally only going to have pictures from the photo booth serve as wedding favors but my mother really wanted us to have favors and offered to pay for them. So we're doing yankee candle sampler votives. We found them for .80 each which was a great deal since they're usually $2 each. And if people decide not to take some, I can always use them later as stocking stuffers
