Do you get a gift for your usher?

Our usher is our pastor's son. He will be at the rehearsal dinner, which is when we are giving out thank you gifts. Should he get one? What would you get him? We honestly don't know him very well. His parents volunteered him to be the usher when they found out we didn't have one.

    Our usher was a close friend of ours and hung out with the guys all day. For part of our groomsmen gifts, we had custom ties and pocket squares made so we just had one set made for him, too.

    Not sure this really helps in your situation, though. Sorry.

    We are, but our ushers/readers are our brothers.

    Maybe ask your pastor if there's something small he would like?

    Yeah, we will be getting them something, but not the same as the groomsmen. I'm still wondering what but, something.. lol.

    The groomsmen are in their 20's and our usher is 9 (I think) so getting him the same gift would not be appropriate.

    How about a visa gift card? How much would be appropriate (he is wearing dress pants, a white button down shirt and a bow tie, not anything expensive).

    We got them the same thing we got the groomsmen. He wanted them as groomsmen but we couldnt add anymore.

    Yes we got our usher a gift. Ushers are still a part of the wedding party.
