Do we feed photographer, videographer, and officiant?

DRGCAS, on August 4, 2015 at 8:09 PM

Are brides/grooms supposed to pay for meals for the photographer, videographer and officiant? If so, where do they sit? I have an exact number of people attending and all seats have been assigned. Do I get a separate table? Please help!

We are feeding our photography, his assistant, DJs (we have a husband and wife team), and priest (if he comes). The only vendor we have that we are not feeding is our photobooth attendant since they don't come until after dinner for 4 hrs total.

I figured happy full vendors would keep the party going instead of cranky starving vendors who want to go home Smiley smile

Our vendors will have a meal and table. I sure hope they don't decline because it will already be paid for.

We ordered meals for our photographer, DJ's and limo driver and we are seating them with the guests. Our caterer priced vendor meals at 1/3 the cost of a guest dinner which was a pleasant surprise.

My assistant and I usually are fed at weddings. There are times where we have been shunned and it feels crappy. The best set up is a table just for vendors!

We fed our vendors. We had them at their own table where the guests were seated.

Our only vendors to offer meals to are the photographer and her assistant and they gladly accepted. Our officiant and string trio leave before dinner. There is a small room with bar tables and stools and I think they will sit there. Or they can sit on the patio.

@MattB I sent an email to the venue asking them about their policy. If I have to pay full price, I will be in the same boat as you.

@Bethie Thanks for letting me know. Now that I know, I don't mind feeding my vendors, however, it would suck if I have to pay full price, given that vendors won't be drinking alcohol.

We are feeding all vendors-- including wedding planner and employees of the B&B who are helping with the wedding. Everyone gets food!

My officiants are invited to the wedding as well as their children. They will be seated with the guests because they're guests and would've been invited regardless. Our djs, photographer, coordinator and any other vendors at the wedding will have a table.

I would start by talking to your venue/caterer to see if they offer a discount for the vendor meals. Then, you could try asking the vendors directly if they would like a meal (assuming you can afford to feed them all).

I had never heard of vendor meals until my venue mentioned that they offered a discounted price for them. Once I knew that vendor meals existed, I made sure to ask each vendor if they would require one.

Yes, you are definitely supposed to feed them. We added extra seats just for them, in case they decide to eat! They don't have to if they don't want to, but the offer is there!

We will be feeding all of our vendors. Its actually stated in their contracts. Our caterer was great and is offering them the same meal as the guests. I haven't really figured out seating but it sounds like a table just for vendors works best. My question is is this table a full decorated wedding table or something simple off to the side? I would had to spend a lot of money on a table no is going to sit at but for a few moments throughout the night....

A vendor table is a great idea, I hadn't thought about this yet!

Yes, feed vendors. I had a buffet for my wedding so I had enough food for them. If you are doing a plated dinner, you should ask your venue for vendor menus.

How do you already have a final head count and seating chart more than three months out? Genuinely curious...I haven't even sent invitations yet.

    Nope. Let them starve.

I kid. I kid. You should provide your vendors a meal. Your caterer will probably have a discount for vendor meals (mine is 50% off).

OH snap I completely forgot about that and didn't include them in my guest count. Great what should I do now.
