    We registered for nice everyday dishes, but not china. We'd never use it.

    @annakay - that's a great set!

    We went with mikasa, but I loved some Lennox sets, and some fancier lines - but I just couldn't justify the extra cost when DH seemed to like these the best.

    It's very much a personal choice on if you register for it or not - I don't think there's a right or wrong answer.

    We were going to register for China but decided against it since DH already had a set that was passed down to him from his grandmother. He was going to get rid of it because he doesn't use it, but I know we will for holidays and such.

    So instead of registering for new China we are sticking to the family China.

    We registered for daily dishes (and actually received them already haha), but nah we have no need for china.

    We registered for China and everyday dishes. I think it depends on you and FH style. I got a style that will coordinate well with my mothers so that I can still use those vintage pieces.

    IDGAF about China, so we will just register for a nice set of daily dishes.

    We just registered for everyday dishes (Fiestaware). My late grandmother had 5 sets of china and I will inherit at least one of those, so we didn't see the need.

    My FH really wants to have a set of nice china, and we do host a lot of major holidays (Both Jewish and Christian holidays, so it's a lot) so we will register for a set of china.

    Basically registered for fiestaware for daily use. we already have a few sets of colors so we asked for more accessories like bakeware, larger bowls, canisters etc.

    We did! We registered for Kate Spade china. It would work for everyday use but we plan to use it on holidays or for entertaining.

    We did and we are thankful my aunts gave it to us for our shower. Everyone I talked to about registering told us to not register for it, it's a waste, blah blah blah. It is totally personal preference. I do think china is more durable now and the fact that it's dishwasher safe made it an easier decision for us. We mixed and matched sets actually. I knew we would never ever use the cups and saucers so we did not register for sets. We registered for some Waterford dinner and salad plates and then registered for some smaller dessert plates from Lenox despite the sales rep trying to convince us that we just had to have a full set with the cups. My family always uses China for holidays and hosting, and I foresee us doing the same. ETA: didn't read the question right. We only registered for china, not every day as we already have every day dishes that we just got last year.

    I only registered for dinnerware I would use. Not for China to be displayed. I know I won't appreciate it in my house

    I dream of one day having a formal dining room and China cabinent. However, I don't see myself ever using it. I originally registered but then took it off in hopes of living a more simple and clutter free life.

    Absolutely! If you want fine china or everyday plates...go for it : )

    I would like a nice set of china; but I'm trying to go with 'less is more' lifestyle, so if I won't use it everyday, I'm not registering for it.
