Right I don't understand it. We line dance/hustle all night in my family and love it. And I don't have a blocked list. I don't listen to R. Kelly anymore but it's crazy my FH does. He said artists have been living messed up amoral lives forever. Take Elvis he met his wife and started a relationship with her when she was 14. So he said if we go into people's personal lives he wouldn't be able to listen to anything. This blocked list is something to think about though. Thanks
No rap music. I like to dance and all, but I want to keep it kind of appropriate since my family are involved at church (pastors and preachers). I do plan on having a little fun once the older crowd heads out though.

I put the song requests on my rsvp cards and so far I have gotten 20 rsvps back. About half of them didn’t choose a song and the other half picked slow songs. I don’t mind a few slow songs but I want fun happy music! One couple put a song that was sad and not very wedding friendly! If I would have known this was going to happen, I would have never done it. I still have a lot of rsvps to come back but so far i think only two songs made the cut. 😬

Oh no! I love Cotton Eye Joe and whole bunch of my family and friends know the dance! At My sister’s wedding, we had a huge group doing the entire thing. It was great!
We did something similar to this! However we have 40 RSVPs and only 5 songs - luckily one of our friends requested 10 songs so we are up to 15 "requested" songs haha

Me too!! I cant stand Ed Sheeran! All of his lyrics are sexist and degrading to women and he has issues with his tempo and rythum sometimes. I just CAN'T. I'm also banning Pink because I hate her voice and pretty much all country unless requested. Also post malone and all those other modern "rappers." They sounds like crap. And I'll tell them not to play the YMCA, chicken dance and the wobble. All other line dances are highly encouraged. I'm surprised at all this line dancing hate. For the most part they get people up and on the dance floor. Lastly who the he** asks to play baby shark at a wedding? Seriously?!

My maid of honor joked about requesting Baby Shark and that's part of why the do not play list is going to happen. I'm not taking that chance.
I'm banning "Celebration" by Kool and the Gang because my sister hates it. She and her then-husband put it on the DO NOT PLAY list and their DJ played it anyway. I don't mind it, but it's not a must-have for me. I'll probably do away with line dances unless there's one that everybody wants. No rap, hip-hop, or country, and "clean" versions of most songs because his mother and sister are conservative Christians. Other than that, we both have eclectic tastes and that will be reflected on the playlist.
