Do I need enclosure cards?

Danielle, on November 4, 2016 at 10:15 AM Posted in Planning 0 8

Our ceremony and reception are in the same location and our wedding website will listed on the STD's (going out soon). I was thinking in the age of Google that direction cards aren't necessary and any important information (hotel block) is listed on our website.

Your thoughts? Is there something I'm not considering?

    How are you collecting RSVPs?

I not using them. I feel that same that almost everyone has a gps or googles directions anyway.

Although, I do have an uncle that is kinda a hermit. He has already requested that I send him directions because he only has a old school flip phone with no internet access and also has no computer. Fairly positive he doesnt know how to search something on the internet. For him, I will just print up a little card at home and put it in his invite, but I wont be doing this for anyone else.

ETA: I consider response cards and enclosure cards 2 different things. I see enclosure cards as having directions and hotel info. I will still have RSVP cards.

No I Don't think you need them if everything is in the same place

@Sara, I also consider those different things. We'll still definitely have RSVP cards.

    I am not doing any.

I go back and forth on the RSVP card. I would love to think everyone is competent enough (or has someone close to them who is) to RSVP online or through a phone call. If I do include them, I won't include a stamped envelope for them.

@Sacco, exactly what I was thinking! I'd like to avoid the expense if it isn't entirely necessary.

I have them for hotel and parking info (center city wedding) and our website URL at the bottom since we didn't do STDs.

Also I love/hate your avatar because now I have the day man song stuck in my head

No, especially if your ceremony and reception are in the same place, I don't think they're necessary. I did invitation (printed front and back), rsvp card with stamped envelope. That stayed under the one ounce limit for regular stamps, so I definitely saved a lot of money by not doing enclosures.
