Hi there,
Asking the group if I need a 2nd photographer for an interfaith ceremony and brunch reception? Would like to know if it would be worth it?

For daughter, the huge advantages of two photographers were that they could get different perspectives of major events (e.g., both bride's face and groom's at first look, when she started down the aisle, during vows, etc.) as well as be in two places at once getting different photos (e.g., primary was with B&G while secondary was getting details shots of the venue, primary was with wedding party after ceremony while secondary was taking photos of guests during cocktail hour, etc.). For her it was absolutely worth it.

Daughter had 100 guests, but two photographers wasn't much about the size of the wedding as it was about the two issues described above. Good luck!

I don’t think you’d need it for a small wedding

This all the way. We had two photographers at both our small events and so worth it! Our DW had only 15 guests and our local reception had 50.

To save a little money, the 2nd shooter is usually a less expensive assistant and you may only need for 1 1/2-2 hours.

We had 45 people and I don’t think we needed it. I got about 900 photos and felt like I got everything I wanted.

See I wasn’t going to have a second BUT my future MIL insisted and made good points. Fist good point is who will be photographing me and my dad and my FH’s face as I walk down the aisle they can’t do both. Who will photograph me before I walkout with my dad and the guests sitting and their faces as I walk down. So 2 for me is now a necessity. My second shooter only cost $600

    All of this!

Having 2 photographers was a priority for us! Your guest count or size of your wedding really does not matter. Having 2 photographers really allows your to capture multiple angles during your day that you will miss only having 1.

If the cost is a lot more than you won't need a 2nd photographer but it is always nice to at least get multiple point of views/angles especially when it comes to the ceremony. My photography package has 2 included so it makes it more fluid for the ceremony and if we decide to have "getting ready" pictures with our party.
