Do I have to wear make-up?!

I. Never. Wear. Make-up. If I wear anything it's just mascara and lipstick or lip gloss, and maybe MAYBE eye shadow. I look like a sad deer when I wear eyeliner. I've been looking back at photos for others' weddings where I have worn make-up and the ones where I was wearing foundation and everything...

I've been looking back at photos for others' weddings where I have worn make-up and the ones where I was wearing foundation and everything just do NOT look like me. My hair stylist/friend just got married and suggested I look into airbrush, but I'm afraid I'll look back at photos and think "WHO IS THAT?" Thoughts? Suggestions? Any other non-make-up wearers out there who can weigh in?

I'd recommend doing a makeup trial and requesting a lightly done natural makeup look

I think everyone looks better with a little makeup...BUT...if you hate it then why wear it? Do what makes you feel great!

Lashes brows ect.. my fiance looks great in photos .. but he's Puerto Rican, and irish/Italian.. so he's got dark hair a amazing eyelashes lol ..

I'm all aboard the no make-up train in principle. In reality, getting good pictures will be hard.

Try to find a photographer that has experience photographing without make-up. They will need to use the light differently and have different positions for you two to make sure it looks even and symmetrical. I agree doing a trial will be worth your time and money in this case. You don't want to have any regrets

Team Make up- as many of you know.

The short answer- no you don't have to wear make up. You don't have to do ANYTHING you don't want to.

But- you WILL look washed out. Your features from a distance WILL look vague.

Men should wear make up- yes- they should have something. But they don't- fine whatever- guess what- they also have stronger features. And I would say the percentage of bride to groom pictures is significantly skewed- i.e. way more of you than him.

IMHO- it's part of dressing up- it's like wearing sneakers with a formal ball gown- does it work- sure- but it looks silly.

Even no make up - make up is a lot of make up. And you should still do it. Foundation evens the skin tone- contour bronzer blush and highlighter to make your features pop and your skin glow from within. Eye make up to really punch up your face.

    Lashes because lashes.

Even demi wispies are better than nothing.

Sure you feel a little foolish- but you look AMAZING in your pictures. You should feel like a rock star when you get your photos back. And if you don't- something went wrong.

No one is saying anyone is NOT beautiful without it. But I would say 9/10 people get make up- thing it's too much- go get pictures done and go- man I wish I had gone the "MOAR" route.

LIke I said- you don't have to do ANYTHING you don't want... but it's going to make you look better- and your photographer can do their job.

Lovely- I would hard pass on no make up and a full red lip- that generally doesn't read well on camera.

Wear however much you want! Have some trials to help you figure out what you like and dislike.

It's about you and your FS. If you don't wear make up, don't wear make up. Obviously s/he loves you without makeup and who cares what anyone else thinks/says. There are good articles about ways to make your skin super healthy before the big day. Just look online and be true to you!

I can't wait to get my make up done that day! I love make up, but don't want to do my own. I want to relax and be pampered.

You don't HAVE to do anything, but I think you should at least consider a natural look. Here's an example from my makeup artist... focus more on evening out skin vs a total glam look.

I wear little to no makeup on a daily basis but wanted to see what i would look like in photos with make up on, so i did a trial for my epics. I went with air brush, as natural as possible. I think i still look like myself but better. Of course it's up to you, but maybe do a trial just to see?

I very very rarely wear makeup. But I'll be having it done for the wedding. Mainly because I break out when I'm stressed. And I want to cover that for pictures. I'm going to go as natural as I can. No dark colors and maybe just gloss or light pink lip stick. I'm doing a trial also just to see how I'll look

I never wear make-up. As in I got married 6 months ago and my makeup is still at my parents house and I haven't missed it. That being said, I am so so happy that I choose to do a natural looking airbrush for my wedding day! I have professional engagement photos without makeup that are just so-so because I look washed out. My wedding pictures are so much better even though in some of them the only change was that I'm wearing make up. It's definitely worth it in my opinion.

I don't wear make up either, but I did for the wedding, Had airbrush done at a bridal show and washed it off when I got home, I hated it. I ended up with light foundation and powder job with light mascara and eyeliner. Still looked like me Smiley smile

Thank you to everyone for your feedback. I'll try a trial with airbrush and see. I'm struggling with that a little, because I have freckles. And I happen to LIKE my freckles. I'm guessing foundation or airbrush would cover them all up. However, after the past week and the unusual breakout I had on my face, I don't want to chance the uneven skin tone. I would for sure wear mascara and something on my lips. I'm just struggling with things that would cover up those key features of my face that I happen to love and embrace more than others might. Thanks again everyone!
